Psychological Charecteristics of Domestic Violence Perpetrators

This thesis focuses on personality characteristics of the specific group of population, and that is the population of domestic violence perpetrators. The thesis briefly deals with the phenomenon of domestic violence and then it focuses not only on the personality of domestic violence perpetrator, but also on factors that can increase probability of violent behavior occurrence. In the research, which was realised, areas of impulsivity, distinctive personality styles and reactions to stressful situations are measured by semi-structured interview, Rosenzweig's picture frustration test and Inventory of personality styles and personality disorders in a group of domestic violence perpetrators. The aim of the research is (following the theoretical background) to find out if there is any possible feature, which could be characteristic for the group of domestic violence perpetrators. By individual methods it was found out that examined individuals appear to be impulsive, but they do not have a common feature within reactions to stressful situations. In the case of distinctive personality styles there were increased mean values within the scales connected to disocial, paranoid, negativistic, borderline and self-sacrificing personality disorder. Possible working mehods and interventions for non-imprisoned juvenile delinquents

The bachelor thesis focuses on possible working methods and interventions for non-imprisoned juvenile delinquents. The part of the literature review summarizes current knowledge on this issue.The current situation of juvenile delinquency and an area of legislation are also mentioned as well as possibilities of residential placement facilities and differences in needs compared to the general population of adolescents. The core part of the thesis focuses on the current options of working methods with children for a purpose the most effective resocialization and minimizing recidivism. The thesis also contains the project of research, which is thematically linked to the literature review. It is quantitative research focused on exploration of interventions effect on one of the human characteristics, which is important in the process of behavior, on the locus of control.
