Ferklová, Blanka ; Oberfalzerová, Alena (advisor) ; Pucek, Vladimír (referee) ; Horák, Tomáš (referee)
In this thesis the onomatopoeias and mimeses in Korean are analyzed. The question of a classification of onomatopoeia and mimeses as some part of speech is discussed after the definition of onomatopoeias and mimeses. In Korean, onomatopoeia and mimeses are mostly considered as adverbs, while in Czech as interjections. The last approach is to create a new part of speech of onomatopoeias and mimeses only. There are four specific conditions of Korean onomatopoeias and mimeses, which is a sound symbolism, reduplications, a specific word formation and typical syntactical functions and a limited compatibility. At least two of the conditions should meet to classify a word to be onomatopoeia or mimesis in Korean. Afterwards the question of quantity of onomatopoeia and mimeses in Korean is presented on an excerption from Korean and Czech dictionary. It was observed, that the quantity of Korean onomatopoeia and mimeses is based expecially on its variability. The main formal features of Korean onomatopoeias and mimeses are presented with several examples. The sound symbolism of vowels and consonants, the various kinds of reduplication, the word forming processes and the syntactical functions are discussed respectively. In the other part the question of distribution of onomatopoeias and mimeses in Korean compare to...
Czech-Korean dictionary
Park, Mi -Young ; Nebeská, Iva (advisor) ; Löwensteinová, Miriam (referee) ; Pucek, Vladimír (referee)
The dissertation 'Czech-Korean dictionary' consists of two parts: this study and the dictionary (M. Park: Česko-Koreajský slovník,Olomouc 2004). The lexicological method applicated on the Czech- Korean dictionary was generally based on the methodological principles, showed in the Manuals of Lexicology (ed. F. Čermák, R. Blantná 1995). The target users of the dictionary are Koreans living in Czech Republic, it is mainly begginers and pre-intermediate learners of Czech language, the selection of headwords and the volume of the dictionary were adapted to this(medium size dictionary with 25000 headwords). The selection of headwords was based primarily on the ‚Frequency vocabulary of Czech language', materialy on the SSJČ, SSČ and two bilingual dictionaries. This study focuses on the problems concerning the Czech-Korean lexicography, that relate to the differences of both languages and culture. On the typological differences, I mainly focused on morphology (II. chap.). While Czech as a language is flexible, it accumulates gramatical meanings in a single element. Korean as a language is agglutinated, it expresses gramatical meanings by arranging number of elements after each other. A number of differences were shown in the classification of parts of speech. From this point of view the most interesting are the...
Methods of srgumentation in the Four-seven debate
Glomb, Vladimír ; Král, Oldřich (advisor) ; Pucek, Vladimír (referee) ; Bařinka, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis deals with the analysis of processes and techniques of argumentation in the formation of propositions within the discourse of the Korean school of daoxue from 16th to 18th century, based on the collection of texts of the Four- Seven Debate and its later commentary in the Nongny chapsik. The given texts are introduced in the form of an analysis of the traditional technique of using diagrams and images in daoxue texts and their relevance in the process of formation of the Debate and themes associated with it. The main focus is then shifted to the use and manner of referencing classical authors and quotations from earlier literary pieces of Confucianism, the use of ad hominem argument and the definition of the concept of orthodox interpretation, as well as the use of metaphorical expressions as means of argumentation. The universal applicability of these techniques within the discourse of the Korean daoxue is demonstrated in 226 the example of the later commentary of the source texts, Nongny chapsik. The aim of the thesis is to show that these processes and techniques make it possible to connect the collection of the texts of the Debate with their theoretical background, and thus evaluate its significance in the subsequent development of basic paradigms in Korean Confucianism.
