Strategic Management of E-business
Luhan, Jan ; Baran, Dušan (referee) ; Fecenko, Josef (referee) ; Půža, Bedřich (referee) ; Dvořák, Jiří (advisor)
The dissertation deals with designing of model for support of strategic management of e-business which is characteristic by integrating existing management processes in the company. The basic mathematical model uses the solution of differential equations and is adaptable for the needs of particular entity.
Mathematical Models of Demand
Trzaskaliková, Eva ; Půža, Bedřich (referee) ; Mezník, Ivan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the analyses of demand using standard tools of engineering mathematics. Mathematical models of demand, both single and multi- factor are investigated. Elasticity of demand is applied for decision making in price policy. Problems of optimization of demand reflecting utility and budget constraints are under consideration. Constructions of demand curve and compensated demand curve are presented. The text is accompanied by illustrative examples aiming at methodical aspects of the work
DEVELOPMENT OF AN ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR IN CAUSED BY ICT
Tichý, Ondřej ; Hynek, Josef (referee) ; Mikoláš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Půža, Bedřich (referee) ; Němeček, Petr (advisor)
The thesis covers a research into the relationship between the Czech organizations and employees and modern information and communication technologies (abbreviated as ICT). From the perspective of organizations, the research focuses on the specific technologies that have been implemented in recent years. How have the technologies been proved and whether they managed to influence an organizational structure of companies. The research is also interested in the impact of these technologies on employees, especially on their productivity. The research, carried out between foreign articles, showed that in countries such as China or USA people suffered from a technostress. The technostess could be described as a stress induced by these technologies. Then, the technostress has a negative impact to the mentioned labor productivity. The introductory part of the text contains secondary research, which focuses on two basic topics. The first part concerns the description of an organization. It indicates what that organization is, and yet the historical opinions on the organizations are also described here. Furthermore, there is described the term like an organizational behavior and its integration into the functioning of the organization. Followed by a section, which defines the position of the individual within the organization. The next section contains a description of the organizational structures. The second basic topic within the secondary research describes ICT. But there is not described a technical specification, there is a description of their importance to the organization, including the relationship of employees of organizations to these technologies. The second half of this dissertation thesis contains two primary researches that are built on the previous theoretical part. Its objectives are: 1) the creation of a model which would includes ICT and also shows the ICT’s impact on a company; 2) to develop a methodology for determining the benefits of ICT to the company and to set them on the basis of the results of the research carried out in this thesis; 3) to identify the latest trends in the implementation of ICT in organizations in the ICT sector in the Czech Republic; 4) to determine whether the current organizational structures of the examined companies are affected by ICT; 5) to ascertain whether the modern ICT affect Czech employees in a negative way, so that caused their lower productivity; and 6) make some recommendations regarding the implementation of ICT for other companies in the Czech Republic. The result of the thesis is the synthesis of knowledge acquired on the basis of the analytical part. During the data collection the inductive and deductive methods were used and the both studies yielded the following conclusions. The employees who use these technologies, do not mostly suffer from the technostress, despite the fact that there was proved a weak dependence between the technostress and a lower labor productivity by the statistical test. The research into the organization also showed that larger Czech companies from the ICT sector tend to focus on the short-term benefits within acquisition of the new ICT. The examined link between the ICT and organizational structures of companies was not demonstrated. The further evaluation showed that the companies mostly acquired software, which was specially developed for them. Finally, it can be considered as a trend in the acquisition of the new ICT to the Czech organizations.
Risk in Costruction Industry: The Management and Financial Impact
Štěpánková, Vladěna ; Půža, Bedřich (referee) ; Smolík, Otakar (referee) ; Suchánek, Petr (referee) ; Režňáková, Mária (advisor)
The present dissertation studies financial impacts of risks in the construction industry, providing one of possible ways of the risks expression and monitoring, through which they can be efficiently managed. Theoretical assumptions and selected methodology provided basis for an overall analysis of the Czech Republic construction market, identifying possible external risks sources including their processing and description. The present dissertation aims at finding major risks and assessing their financial impacts that pose threats to companies active in the construction sector, indeed a specific sector for doing business. These risks have been compiled in a Risk Catalogue intended as a guide for selected risks management. To elaborate on the risks identified, two specific companies have were selected, having provided their data (financial reports, accounts statements, number of projects contracted including their volume and type, personnel information, etc.), as well as key indicators they have been using. The dissertation outcome presents construction sector analysis and Risk Register compilation. The work clearly defines the procedure of the Register compilation, possibly to be used by construction companies with respect to recurrent activities and the risks involved. The Catalogue sorts risks in categories and defines their possible occurrence as well as their financial impact on the company. Furthermore, it presents their possible management, i.e. how they can be minimized or even eliminated, as well as necessary costs involved. Indeed, the costs have to be considered in the sense of financial impacts so that it does not result in covering risks with rather low financial impact.
Graph Theory in Economic Practice
Geško, Dávid ; Půža, Bedřich (referee) ; Novotná, Veronika (advisor)
In Bachelor’s thesis we deal with Traveling salesman person problem. In theoretical part are introduced basic terms of graphs theory and methods to solve Traveling salesman person problem. Practical part draws a comparison among efficiency of several methods solving this problem in environment of real world examples. In summary analysis are these methods evaluated and consequently chosen and implemented most effective method for company, which want to use it to determining most optimized tours for distributing goods.
Mathematical Models of Production
Hanzlíček, Tomáš ; Půža, Bedřich (referee) ; Mezník, Ivan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the mathematical modelling of economic processes, particulary production. Basic approach, models and methods of modelling concerning the mentioned area are described. Further, specific characterizations are investigated. Application of selected methods to typical examples is presented. In the final part models on concrete data are constructed.
Mathematical Methods in Economics
Blaha, Ladislav ; Půža, Bedřich (referee) ; Novotná, Veronika (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is follow up to an analyses made of actual state of affairs in public administration and business ambience in Moldova, focusing on the missing professional terminology, which is necessary for the effective function of both sectors. The main purpose is to make an application, which would be used to determine the Levenshtein distance from two textual chains. This application is used primarily for comparing textual chains in different languages. In other words it finds the scale of their similarity the application will be used later to create a dictionary, which will focus on terminology from the area of public administration.
Phillips Curve in Conditions of the Czech Republic
Musilová, Simona ; Půža, Bedřich (referee) ; Novotná, Veronika (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis is focused on the Phillips curve in conditions of the Czech economics. Validity of the substitution relationship between the rate of inflation and the unemployment rate is testing by regression analysis on real data of the Czech Republic during years 1996–2016. In order to better explain variability of the dependent variable, the model is expanded by inflation expectations, which corresponds to the development of the economic theory of the Phillips curve. After that the Phillips curve for the Czech Republic is constructed in Maple using the systems of differential equations.
