Technical Analysis
Novotný, Adam ; Šubert, Jaroslav (referee) ; Novotná, Veronika (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on the use of technical analysis in practice and compares the results with the investment fund. The theoretical part describes the basic stock information, methods of technical analysis and basic theory needed to build a diversified portfolio. The analytical part describes the selection of several biotechnology companies and examining their stock prices using simple moving averages. Analysis results are compared with an investment fund. Further described is a portfolio composed of investment funds by Erste Bank and application for calculating moving averages is described at the conclusion.
Production of Special Spacer using WJM/AWJ
Novotný, Adam ; Osička, Karel (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
This thesis on subject "Production of Special Spacer using WJM/AWJ" deals with the problem of progressive advanced technology, nonconventional water jet cutting, describes the process of cutting samples by AWJ technology in engineering company and discusses the effect of selected cutting program on quality of machined surface and dimensional accuracy. An attention is devoted to the substitutability of WJM/AWJ cutting methods and the possibility of combination with conventional technologies.
Acceleration and motion of upper limbs
Novotný, Adam ; Kolář, Radim (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
Purpose of this work is mainly the description of electrical plots in skeletal muscles and secondarily experimental verification and description of methods connected with measuring and evaulating biosignals. The theoretical presentation of muscle physiology facts is supplemented with an experiment using pair t-test, which describes procedures leading to evaluating particular hypotheses (the measured muscle is biceps brachii). In this work, the biosignal is an EMG signal, thus the electrical activity of muscle. Therefore, the main objective of this work is not only about using EMG as an examination method, but also about showing a complex view at the recording, processing and evaluating of EMG signal. These facts are supplemented with programm application which is showing the way working with EMG signals and also the possibilities of algorithm development in such signals.

Master thesis mainly focuses on the use of technical analysis for testing stocks of chosen companies. The theoretical part describes background papers necessary for using technical analysis and for creating diversified portfolio. The analytical part describes the selection of several automobile manufacturers from NASDAQ stock market, which will be examined in the following part by several methods of technical analysis. The last part of this thesis is also dedicated to application created for necessary calculations in Matlab and to portfolio composed of investment funds by Erste Bank.
Textural Analysis of Nerve Fibre Layer in Retinal Images
Novotný, Adam ; Jan, Jiří (referee) ; Odstrčilík, Jan (advisor)
This work describes completely new approach to detection of retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) loss in colour fundus images. Such RNFL losses indicate eye glaucoma illness and an early diagnosis of RNFL changes is very important for successful treatment. Method is presented with the purpose of supporting glaucoma diagnosis in ophthalmology. The proposed textural analysis method utilizes local binary patterns (LBP). This approach is characterized especially by computational simplicity and insensitivity to monotonic changes of illumination. Image histograms of LBP distributions are used to gain several textural features aimed to classify healthy or glaucomatous tissue of the retina. The method was experimentally tested using fundus images of glaucomatous patients with focal RNFL loss. The results show that the proposed method can be used in order to supporting diagnosis of glaucoma with satisfactory efficiency.
Analysis of the structure and content of the weekly training microcycle in U13 and U15 football players
Novotný, Adam ; Kokštejn, Jakub (advisor) ; Frýbort, Pavel (referee)
Title: Analysis of the structure and content of the weekly training microcycle in U13 and U15 football players Name: Adam Novotný Thesis supervisor: Mgr. Jakub Kokštejn, Ph.D. Objective: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to compare the content, structure and time efficiency of the training process within a weekly microcycle between the football categories of younger pupils (category U13) and older pupils (category U15). At the same time, the aim is to compare the content and structure of the training process of the mentioned categories with the recommendations of the Football Association of the Czech Republic. Methods: The research population consisted of two student categories of players (U13 and U15). Non-participant observation and the creation of a video recording of a three-week training mesocycle were used for data collection. The significance of the differences with respect to the stated hypotheses was tested by assessing the substantive significance of Hedges' g coefficient and also by using percentages. Results: This study found a significant difference in the use of preparatory games between the U13 (25.9 %) and U15 (68.4 %) categories. As expected, a significant difference was also analyzed for the use of weight training. The U13 category did not use weight training at all and opted...
Economic and legal aspects of euro adoption in the Czech Republic
NOVOTNÝ, Adam
The Czech Republic has committed itself to adopt the euro with joining the European union in 2004. Until today there has not been any political interest of setting the specific date of euro adoption due to low public approval. Currently, there is an increase of positive public opinion about euro so it is the right time to start an objective discussion. The thesis is divided into three parts. The First part describes the history and evolution of the European monetary union, Maastricht convergence criteria and the theory of optimal currency area. The second part presents possible economic benefits and costs of joining the monetary union. The third and the main part examines the real effects of euro adoption on sample of selected countries with similar characteristics. The impact of euro on main economic indicators was analysed and there has been carried out a comparison between these countries. Also the role of euro in trade of selected countries has been highlighted. Last but not least, the possible impact of euro on country competitivness has been analysed in the context of optimum currency area theory. It is expected that joining the monetary union leads to a boost of bilateral trade which harmonizes the economic cycles of trade partners. The main purpose of this part is to prove the increase of competitiveness of exporters gained from monetary union measured by the raise of the bilateral trade interconnection. Finally these two criteria - gross domestic product alignment and bilateral trade interconnection have been used to describe the suitability of Czech Republic as a candidate country for the European monetary union.
