Assessment of Ochozsky Brook Status
Vaculíková, Klára ; Tůma, RNDr Antonín (referee) ; Malá, Jitka (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with an evaluation of Ochozský stream in the village Březina in Moravian Karst. There was done a survey of a ground and the stream surroundings. There was also gained information from the Municipal office on technical adjustment of the stream, sewer network, waste water treatment plants and polluters of Ochozský stream. Two measurements of physicochemical parameters and sampling were carried out at six sampling points in autumn 2017 and in spring 2018. Flow rate was measured at three sampling points. Conductivity, pH, temperature, oxidation-reduction potential, concentration of dissolved oxygen and saturation with oxygen were measured in situ. COD, BOD, total phosphorus, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and Kjeldahl nitrogen were determined in water samples in the laboratory. Organic nitrogen and total nitrogen were calculated. The results were evaluated with a respect of Government Decree No. 401/2015 Coll. There was also provided a hydromorphology assessment of Ochozský stream using methodology Stream Visual Assessment. A land use of the offshore stream strip was mapped.
Use of nanofiber filter for air filtration
Straka, Petr ; Hlaváč,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Kabrhel,, Michal (referee) ; Malá, Jitka (advisor)
The doctoral thesis „Using of nanofiber filter for air filtration“ is focused on application of nanofiber filter for air filtration under demanding conditions of water supply facilities. The main aim of the filter application is to decrease the secondary contamination of the indoor environment of the water accumulation tanks. The nanofiber filters are distinguished by high filtration efficiency of pollutants, dust particles and organic impurities. The contaminants don´t have to be unhealthy but they can be used for spore and microorganisms delivery to the system. They are served frequently as a reproduction substrate of microorganisms. All these factors negatively affect the water quality. The research includes formation of suitable testing methodology, pilot unit construction and operation, short-term testing and evaluation of nanofiber filters and commonly used filters and long term testing and verification of nanofiber filter attributes and quality. Furthermore the filter´s characteristics and filtration efficiency for characteristic pollutants were evaluated. Short-term and long-term experimental testing proved suitability of nanofiber filters use in water supply facilities. Interception of reported pollution indicators was reported on similar or higher level for application of nanofiber filter than for application of commonly used filter. Measured values of higher pressure difference of nanofiber filter were indicated as still adequate for use in water supply facilities. No operation difficulties, failures neither filter´s damage were reported during testing of nanofiber filters.

Nitrate removal from agricultural runoff
Schrimpelová, Kateřina ; Šálek,, JAN (referee) ; Drtil,, Miloslav (referee) ; Malá, Jitka (advisor)
The increasing concentration of nitrates in surface water and groundwater is becoming a global problem. The dissertation thesis is focused on the denitrifying bioreactors with organic fill material designed for the reduction of nitrate input from agricultural areas in the Czech Republic. A set of laboratory experiments was performed – static leaching tests and column tests, including chemical analyses of outflow water and ecotoxicological bioassays. Seven materials common in the Czech Republic, various process parameters, types and lengths of bioreactor shutdown in dry periods and the use of outflow water for irrigation were tested. The thesis deals with both denitrification efficiency and ways of reducing negative effects. An evaluation of the overall effect bioreactors is included along with a prediction regarding leaching over the following years.
Comparison of runoffs from conventional and green roofs
Mácová, Michaela ; Králová, Helena (referee) ; Malá, Jitka (advisor)
This thesis deals with the comparison of rainwater and its subsequent use. Especially, it compares the rainwater from the classical and green roofs. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with roofs in general, it focuses mostly on green roofs and green roofs in Norway. It also deals with precipitation and the use of rainwater. In the second part there is a brief introduction of organization called „Open Garden“. Susequently, this art is focused on the analysis of samples and their subsequent coparison in the framework of classic and green roofs. The second part is also focused on the comparison of water quality during the time.
Evaluation of domestic wastewater treatment plant operation
Ondruš, Martin ; Štamberová, Marta (referee) ; Štamberová, Marta (referee) ; Malá, Jitka (advisor)
Thesis deals with the evaluation of domestic wastewater treatment plant operation. The theoretical part focuses on the types of wastewater, especially sewage, and ways to eliminate pollution from small sources. The practical part contains a description of the reported domestic wastewater treatment plant, methods of sampling and analysis methods to obtain the necessary indicators of pollution. These indicators were used for comparison with the given limits. Then it points to the unsatisfactory operation of the plant and describes the measures taken to solve the problem.
Completion of the area Údolní 53 for the Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Fine Arts
Vrabcová, Anežka ; Malá Opletalová, Jana (referee) ; Makovský, Zdeněk (advisor)
The proposed VUT Art Campus is situated around the area of the streets Úvoz, Údolní, Tvrdého, Všetičkova and Jiříkovského. It lies in between two of the Brno’s most attractive recreational spots, Špilberk and Kraví hora. The project offers a creative solution of connecting two VUT’s faculties, the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Fine Arts. An important part of the proposal is the gallery of the students’ works which also serves as a connecting element between the faculties. One of the main objectives is the creation of the Green Line originating at Špilberk and finishing at Kraví hora. As such, the campus works as a cultural point of interest on the way around the city. The whole concept aims to highlight the uniqueness of the faculties while stretching the importance of their interconnection and the need of a co-operation.
Pollution entering the Moravian Karst via surface streams
Vaculíková, Klára ; Tůma, RNDr Antonín (referee) ; Malá, Jitka (advisor)
The Diploma Thesis deals with the water pollution entering the Protected Landscape Area Moravian Karst via surface streams. In order to quantify the extent of the pollution surface streams entering the Moravian Karst were selected. A survey of a region of interest was done. Actual volume flow rate, measurements of physicochemical parameters, water samplings, laboratory analyses of samples were done monthly from April to November 2019. Conductivity, pH, temperature, oxidation-reduction potential, concentration of dissolved oxygen, and oxygen saturation were measured in situ. Afterwards, COD, BOD, phosphate, total phosphorus, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and Kjeldahl nitrogen were determined in the laboratory. Organic nitrogen and total nitrogen were also calculated. The results were evaluated with a respect of Government Decree No. 401/2015 Coll. Material flows were calculated for selected parameters and used as other criterion that evaluate the water pollution of monitoring surface streams. Areas out of the PLA needing an enhanced protection of watercourses were proposed based on quantified pollution. Cooperation with two primary schools in the Moravian Karst supported the research. Pupils and their teachers were trained, and they measured phosphate in surface streams from April to November 2019. The website related to phosphorus in surface water were created and results of phosphate measurement were uploaded there.
Recent findings in the therapy of postoperative scars and their complicatoin in the abdominal region - literature research.

The inclusion criteria for this review are the POSAS, VSS and NRS scales. Method: This thesis is processed in the form of a systematic review. The search of sources was carried out in specialized Internet databases and electronic portals UKAŽ, Google Scholar, Scopus, Springer Link, Pubmed, EBSCOhost, PEDro, Medline, Web of Science based on keywords. The first part of the thesis contains a theoretical introduction to scar tissues. The second part is descriptive-analytical in nature and contains an analysis of the individual studies included in the literature search examining different interventions in the treatment of postoperative abdominal scars. Results: A...
