Sankční politika EU v sino-evropských vztazích

The main objective of this thesis is to assess whether the arms embargo from 1989 removal is an option for the European Union. The paper is divided into two major chapters. The first chapter introduces the theoretical framework of EU sanction policy and restrictive measures. Also, the timeline and reasons for the embargo imposition are described. The second one examines Sino-European relations in terms of political discourse and especially arms trade because both are connected with the topic of the arms embargo. The approaches towards the embargo of all actors are also discussed.
Mass media as a factor of international politics at the stage of globalization - the case study of USA, France, Turkey

This diploma thesis explores the connection of the contemporary media with the modern trend of the present - globalisation. The first chapter builds on the key concept of term globalised media and compares the extent to which current mass media differ from traditional media before the start of the globalisation. The second chapter discusses the concept of mass media, examines the typology of the media and its basic functions, an important part of the chapter is the analysis of media impact on various components of our society. In the third chapter, the author compares the media environment in the United States of America, France and Turkey, and lists events that have affected the current situation of the media from a media perspective. The last part of thesis deals with a case study examining newspaper articles and television broadcasts on three selected terrorist attacks, namely the assault on Charlie Hebdo, the suicide bomber in Turkey and the shooting in Orlando. By comparing media plots, the author draws on the main hypotheses and research questions of the thesis.

This bachelor thesis focuses on the contemporary phenomenon of the Islamic state, which has become one of the worst threats, not only for countries situated in Middle East, but also for countries all around the world. Due to armed clashes and thought-out tactics of the Islamic State, Iraq's and Syria's inner systems have been destroyed and civil wars initiated. The aim of this thesis is primarily to find and analyze factors that led to the genesis of this organization and also to its huge expansion and support, which is why the Islamic state has gained control over significant parts in those mentioned countries.

Global Terrorism and New Media: The Case Study of the Islamic State

The diploma thesis Global Terrorism and New Media: The Case Study of the Islamic State examines the use of modern means of communication and technologies by global terrorists on the case of the terrorist organization Islamic State. The main hypothesis of this study is the claim that the Islamic State is using a very sophisticated communication strategy that, in combination with new technologies, allows its global scope. Through its propaganda methods, it tries not only to manipulate the audience and attract potential followers, but also demoralize and intimidate its enemies. The combination of two qualitative research methods, the case study and thematic analysis, enabled a more detailed examination of the Islamic State communication strategy and its propaganda messages in a selected data sample.
European identity at the beginning of the 21 century

This bachelor thesis deals with European identity and the role of the European Union in its formation at the beginning of the 21st century. The individual chapters speak about identity in general and its types with an emphasis on collective identity, next topic is European identity, its models and interpretations in official EU documents. Last chapter focuses on the concept of European identity in the expressions of politicians and experts, the concrete identity-making tools of the EU and the feeling of European identity by EU citizens. The thesis aims to identify the features of contemporary European identity at the beginning of the 21st century, to analyze the current EU´s identity-making strategy and evaluate its success. Based on the analysis, it was found that the European Union is successful in the creation and encouragement of European identity.
The UN on the Threshold of the 21st Century – The Convention for Protection of the Mediterranean Sea against Pollution (a case study)

The bachelor thesis deals with the Convention for Protection of the Mediterranean Sea against Pollution. The thesis analyses the influence of Barcelona Convention on the quality of the Mediterranean environment and defines the barriers to a more effective functioning of the Mediterranean Action Plan. It proves that the United Nations plays an important role in the field of international relations, which was also confirmed by the creation of the United Nations Environmental Programme. The bachelor thesis describes how the approach to the issue of environmental pollution at the international level has evolved since the 70s of the twentieth century. The last part compares the condition of the Mediterranean Sea before the signing of the Barcelona Convention with the current condition.

The aim of this theses is to identify cultural determinants which have influence on African lifestyle and to find out which political, economic and social consequences they could create. The output of research is based on the confirmation our hypothesis that the cultural gap, or rather the clash of traditional and modern Africa, together with discovered determinants influences some barriers which thwart the successful implementation of development aid.
The impact of Jewish culture on the formation of Israel policy

This bachelor thesis is focused on analysing the influence of Jewish culture and it's impact on Israel political scene. The first part briefly describes the history of Jewish culture and the State of Israel. The second part is dedicated to the indexes of Geert Hofstede, which are applied on Israel. The third part is focused on the analysis of cultural features in politics. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the impact of the cultural features on political process and to point out the reflection of the mentioned parts of politics.
The Development of the Position of women in the Middle East. Case Study of Egypt.

This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of the so-called Arab Spring on the rights and the status of women in Egypt. The thesis compares and analyses women's employment, family law, violence against women and other factors in three periods of time: before, during and after the so-called Arab Spring. The main aim of this work is to answer the question of whether the so-called Arab spring has brought women a better position in society. Individual articles about women's rights in Egyptian constitutions are analysed and then compared with international conventions on women's rights. These rights are then compared to the actual status of women as described in NGO reports and other sources.
