Hradilová, Iva ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The submitted diploma thesis is focused on finding optimal inside arrangement of multi-chamber septic tank using the conductive method. The diploma thesis brings detailed description and measuring results, including the testing of several different arrangements of the standard circular three chamber septic tank in the project TAČR with the working title "Anasep" and newly developed four-chamber septic tank with several innovative features. The results are then categorized according to own terminology for ease application in the practice. The described method may be a suitable alternative for other technically and economically less available methods. The method shows very clearly whether the inner space of the septic tank sufficient use its volume to the velocity field distribution which has a direct impact on the rate of sedimentation of suspended solids and therefore affect the life of the downstream filtration equipment. Measured data processing and graphical outputs were processed in the programme Minitab. Graphical display of all variants of septic tanks was carried out using SketchUp. Visualization of a septic tank in 2D and 3D space plane was solved in COMSOL Multiphysic with the application of CFD module. The conclusion is based on achievements discussed the applicability of the described method and it presented hydraulically efficient multi-chamber septic tank, which is currently copyrighted solution, developed by a team of solvers in the project ANASEP.

This diploma thesis consists of two parts, part research and part attachments. The first section describes the literary problems of today's way of cleaning wastewater from small producers and characteristics of wastewater. The work is focused on the aspect of nature and all of these methods are directed towards this direction. The literary section is devoted to anaerobic environment, which is just one of the natural ways of treatment of waste water, in our case in a septic tank. The second part of the thesis deals with modeling of flow and behavior of sludge and water mixture in the cesspit septic tank sludge with variable densities and flow speeds. Modeling and calculations are made using COMSOL Multhiphysics. The conclusion is then summarized findings from the flow cesspit septic tank with the results and the assessment of whether a septic tank still has its place among the modern methods of wastewater treatment.
The Study of Intensification of the Constructed Treatment Wetland for the Village of Machová
Zedník, Ondřej ; Pumprlová Němcová, Miroslava (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The village Machová (650 inhabitants) operates a combined sewage system which leads to a treatment wetland. This wastewater treatment plant faces similar problems like most of treatment wetlands from the turn of the last century - it has a low efficiency of the removal of ammonia nitrogen N-NH4 + which causes a negative impact on the watercourses and the environment. The study deals with the technical modification of the operating line which would eliminate the abovementioned problems and solves the sludge treatment in treatment plant. Population growth in the village connected with the construction of sanitary sewer will cause high concentrations of pollution in the inflow. The proposed modification uses the latest scientific knowledge and proven technologies which were created by the Institute of Landscape Water Management. These technologies will secure the low effluent concentrations of monitored parameters not only today but also in case the population of the village will grow.
Solutions and variability of vertical filters
Roupec, Ladislav ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with innovative technical solution of vertical trickle filter systems, which are categorized into the category of natural ways thow to clean water. The actual vertical filters for root cleaners are currently experiencing a boom thanks to the MPO project with the working title Biostream, within which are vertical root systems tested on root cleaner in the village of Kotenčice (involved in pilot conditions). The results show an increased removal of ammonia nitrogen and high efficiency in the elimination of organic pollution BSK5 and CHSKCr. However, the practice may in the future require even higher efficiency that can be solved by small technical innovations and modifications. In connection with the forced aeration of vertical filters is elaborated the methodological part of the thesis, the final result of the work is several regression equations using which it is possible to determine the input of oxygen into the system at a given input parameters (filter size, water flow, air flow, etc.). The results are very useful for a scientific branch because there is not so much available literature for this topic.
Project of Treatment Wetland for Kurovice Municipality
Štěpáníková, Alexandra ; Pumprlová Němcová, Miroslava (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The work deals with the practical design of constructed treatment wetlands for Kurovice. The proposed treatment wetlands have an estimated size of 300 EO. For the design were used the most modern technologies available. The whole diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical search and practical design. At the beginning, there is a description of the target area and is followed by the proposal of individual facilities. In the conclusion of the theoretical part, the efficiency of the constructed treatment wetlands is compared with the legislation. The practical part consists of the design of constructed treatment wetlands. The design was focused on the technologies used and the spatial arrangement of individual buildings based on the atypical shape of the land. The whole proposal is made to such an extent that it can serve for subsequent use as project documentation for land management and building permits.
Design parameters of filtration materials for small constructed wetlands
Fialová, Tereza ; Rozkošný,, Miloš (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
Constructed wetlands and the soil filters are water treatment devices using the filter material that in most cases consists of natural river gravel, coarse sand or crushed stone. This thesis deals with the research of unconventional filtration materials, or more precisely with examination of their ability to be used as an alternative medium that can ensure better cleaning effect. For the research work following metallurgical industry materials were used: slag, waste from cipres filter, waste from the molding mixture, waste from large blasters and small blasters, sand filter material ČEZ, the coarse crushed slag 8-16 mm and as the last alternative medium ground coffee beans. Both the hydraulic and the chemical aspect of all above mentioned materials were tested (except of the last mentioned). The examined hydraulic parameters are particularly porosity, hydraulic conductivity, bulk density, particle density, chemical composition and concentration of chemical extracts. By evaluating the results of the measurements it is determined which materials are suitable to be applied in the constructed wetlands and the soil filters. In future the testing will continue under real operating conditions in the constructed wetland, where particular column filtration units (selected according to results of previous measurement) will treat real sewage water.
Concept of wastewater solution for village Třebešov
Chaloupka, Ondřej ; Pumprlová Němcová, Miroslava (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
Water is the essential building block of life on the planet Earth. Its importance was overlooked in the past and quality of water in surface watercourses noticeably dicreased. It is an important fact, that according to the principles of sustainable development water became treated more economically and the water, wich people use, started to be cleaned properly before discharging back into the nature. One possible method is using of vertical sand natural filters. The Bachelor thesis deals with a possible solution of treatment wetlands for the village Třebešov. In this village there is located only an united sewer and therefore a water reservoir for rain water will be part of the design. In this water tank the rain water diluted with sewage will be cleaned through floating island technology.
Hydraulic optimization of horizontal sand catcher
Kulička, Rostislav ; Šálek,, Jan (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
This work is focused on the development control system flow area in a standardized horizontal sand trap in the Czech Republic used the majority of constructed wetlands for the capture of solid mineral particles. The goal is the development and validation functions of the flow regulator, providing more uniform process of establishment of mineral particles, respectively. reduction of sedimentation of organic components. The actual design precedes the mathematical description through the HEC-RAS, the results are applied in the design of a laboratory model. Work processes theoretically the standardized sand traps, focuses on the comparison of the required residence time of wastewater in the sedimentation area of establishment with the sedimentation time of sand grain on the selected diameter of 0.8 mm. In laboratory conditions were carried out build sand trap model itself, as well as developed a regulatory element. After resolving structural measurements were taken and compared the results with the ideal state. For putting the controller into practice, when an application is planned at the constructed wetlands in Dražovice village, it will have to the most accurate setting of the regulator.
