Development of flow-through detectors based on carbon nanotubes
Jirásková, Barbora ; Dejmková, Hana (advisor) ; Fischer, Jan (referee)
A compatibility has been found for a combination of carbon nanotube electrodes on a membrane support with a flow-injection analysis. A total amount of four kinds of PTFE membranes with carbon nanotubes has been used in two sizes of cells. Ascorbic acid was used as a electrochemical standard. Optimisation of inner structure of a cell has been made and hydrodynamic voltammograms have been measured accordingly with an influence of a flow rate on current response. Conversion degree was calculated from the data acquired from the hydrodynamic voltammograms. Further data acquired from the hydrodynamic voltammograms were the optimal potentials for each kind of a CNT membrane - E = 0,5 V for the CNT type 50-20 and E= 0,9 V for the CNT type M-Grade. A thought concerning the impact of a size of a cell on a width of a peak has been confirmed. Further widening occurs with a slower flow rate. The repeatability on a fixed potential input was very good: the relative standard deviation of a peak height for the number of measurements n = 10 was below 2 %.
Determination of antioxidant activity of lichens
Jirásková, Barbora ; Dejmková, Hana (advisor) ; Schwarzová, Karolina (referee)
Antioxidant properties were studied on seven members of the Cladonia lichen family using the DPPH method, Reducing Power method, Folin-Ciocalteu method and two electrochemical methods: cyclic voltammetry (CV) and flow injection analysis (FIA) with amperometric detection. Both electrochemical methods were carried out with the use of glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and carbon paste electrode (CPE), FIA and CV were evaluated on the potential of E = 1,2 V. The carbon paste electrode turned out not to be ideal for these kinds of measurements, possibly for unknown interactions betweeen the carbon paste and the analysed extract. The inapplicability of the electrode took shape of low to zero correlation between this and most of the other methods. Evaluation of the measured data could infer that the studied Cladonia family lichens really contain substances with antioxidant properties, of which the most would probably be of phenolic type.
Age management
Jirásková, Barbora ; Dvořák, Marek (advisor)
This thesis processes the concept of the human resources management with respect to the age structure of employees in the intentions of the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part, there is outlined the history of the application of the principle of age management, focusing on current demographic trends, forecasts of population age structure, the aging workforce and the need to preserve the ability to work into old age. Points to the need to adapt corporate strategy, personnel management trend of an aging population. It presents ideas for the main underlying programs and legislative measures which form the basis of the latest concepts and strategic plans in the Czech Republic and Europe. The empirical part deals with a specific level of allowance organization established by TSU and two sub investigation. The first is a case study of age management staff. The resulting data are confronted with the results of a survey among employees of the organization. The second investigation are interviews with members of management and employees of the HR department on the issue of the introduction of age management, their awareness of the concept of age management, the question of age discrimination, the issue of maintaining the continuity of knowledge in the organization and their views on these topics. The outcome of this survey indicates a willingness and readiness of the organization has already received age management principles adhere to and develop further.
