Dědová, Markéta ; Brožová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Dudáková, Tereza (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the labor market of the Czech Republic and Catalonia. In the introductory part I will present the two countries using comparison of the basic labor market indicators of both countries, where attention is paid to the role of the European Union's and the Eurozone's impact on the labor market in both countries.First, I will focus on the analysis of development of unemployment according to education, where I will pay attencion to the connection between unemployment and educational attainment, which proceeds from the assumption, that with rising qualification the unemployment rate of the group should decline. Then I decided to analyze the labor market with the use of economic instruments, which are using one of the the components of the labor market, unemloyment, as a variable. That is the Okun's Law, the Phillip's curve and the Beveridge's curve, when at created graphs I will confirm or disprove given assumptions. In the final part I will create econometric models to help examine the interdependence of variables and I shall evaluate the validity of the Phillip's curve and the Beveridge's curve.
Price Policy of the Jara Cimrman Theatre in Zizkov and its Consequences
Němečková, Dagmar ; Lipka, David (advisor) ; Dudáková, Tereza (referee)
This paper examines the efficiency of the strategy of setting ticket prices to the objectives of The Jara Cimrman Theatre in Žižkov. The basis of the examination is to analyze the prosperity of the theater in present time based on theoretical knowledge of contemporary economists. Based mainly on the conclusions of Becker's theory about how demand is affected by the demand of other individuals and certain other economic theories dealing with the determination of lower than equilibrium prices and related issues. In addition to describing the current state of operation of the theater is mapped in detail, using sample surveys, the issue of pricing and distribution of tickets incl. further sale of those tickets. An essential part of this work is the application of Becker's model, selected on the economic behavior of the theatre, which is explained by the atypical aspects that remain at the scene. Those are particularly long queues for tickets, which maintains the theater, as one of the last image of their unique type of theater. However, has the time come for that type of theatre to make changes in their economic thinking in favor of maximizing profits? And what changes come with this behaviour? This question is answered in the end it is this work.
Analysis of the discount server type Groupon.com
Nedvídek, Daniel ; Svoboda, Miroslav (advisor) ; Dudáková, Tereza (referee)
My work is focused on selling the goods and services via sale servers such as Groupon.com, which is a new brand on the Internet in the Czech Republic. This work consists of the main idea description on which "the selling model" is based on, its origin, development and the other possible alternatives of selling. I tried to find out the reasons why this kind of selling is so popular from customers', sellers' and negotiators' aspects. I used a model that helps me to explain the relation between the number of sold products and selected parameters. The model is based on the dates which have already been finished on the Czech sale servers. Furthermore there are all the results of my questionnaires filled by sellers and customers as well.
Analysis of problems of South wing countries of EMU and Ireland from the optimum currency area point of view and application on Czech Republic
Michailidis, Dimitrios ; Hurník, Jaromír (advisor) ; Dudáková, Tereza (referee)
This thesis focuses on analysis of current problems of so called "South wing countries" of EMU and Ireland (countries which are being called "PIIGS") from the theory of optimum currency area point of view. It uses the static and dynamic version of the theory as a framework for analyzing the problems of internal and external imbalance within those countries and mainly the connection between current accounts deficits, high level of private and public debts, loss of competitiveness in international trade and high percent of unemployment. The thesis comes with a conclusion that the main factors behind the crisis were inflation and inflation expectations which then through different inflation differentials created asymmetric shocks in monetary policy. This inflation differential phenomenon is described in Walters critique and with other theories creates the basis of analytical part. In the appendix it assesses the readiness of Czech Republic for accepting the euro, based on the analysis made in this thesis.
Strategies in pay-per-bid auctions
Podešva, Jiří ; Svoboda, Miroslav (advisor) ; Dudáková, Tereza (referee)
In this paper I analyze pay-per-bid auctions. On the bids made in auctions I research strategies of players. I confirmed the hypothesis that players timed signal bids. I have demonstrated that shortening the interval extension auction decreases signaling in the auctions. Then I haven't demonstrated reduction signaling in beginner auctions. I also concluded, that the benefits in form of restoration of half used coupons for the player who was at the second place, doesn't increase the average number of bids made in auctions. My final conclusion is that the auctions with cheaper goods introduce on average higher returns for auctioneer than the auctions with more expensive goods.
