Analysis of stabilization of masonry walls on the Štamberk castle ruins
Drdácký, Miloš ; Frankeová, Dita
Analysis involves study of typology of individual phases of medieval stone masonry, classification of its quality, description of its condition and identification of its damage and failures. It suggests safeguarding and protection of masonry ruins including their presentation. It presents results of basic material characterisation of lime mortars on the castle.
Inspection of endangered cultural heritage assets in Iran
Drdácký, Miloš
Findings and comments based on visual inspection of damaged historical buildings – cultural heritage monuments - by Professor Miloš Drdácký. lt seems that there is a lack of an advanced documentation and especially diagnostics of condition of historical buildings and monuments. Namely, long term monitoring of defects in their relation to loadings is missing. Further, laboratories and know how for determination of material characteristics has a potential for improvement.
Possibilities of using 4D computed tomography in fracture tests
Kumpová, Ivana ; Fíla, Tomáš ; Koudelka, Petr ; Rozsypalová, I. ; Keršner, Z. ; Kytýř, Daniel ; Vopálenský, Michal ; Vavřík, Daniel ; Vyhlídal, M. ; Drdácký, Miloš
The paper presents the study of the internal structure and fracture properties of selected quasi-brittle building materials subjected to temperature changes and the possibility of applying the method combining bending fracture tests and time-dependent computed tomography (4D CT). The tested specimens were subjected to hightemperature effects and subsequently tested by a four-point bending during 4D CT. Thus, 3D image information was obtained in different phases of loading and material damage. Comparative compression strength measurements were also performed. These results are in good agreement
Non-destructive survey of the oldest part of the castle in Telč
Drdácký, Miloš ; Eisler, Marek ; Lesák, Jaroslav ; Válek, Jan ; Skružná, Olga
Recent archaeological findings discovered at an excavation in the southeastern section of the small courtyard of the old palace at the state castle in Telč sparked interest in further exploring hidden structures below ground and within the existing masonry. Therefore, a non-destructive survey of structures hidden beneath the current level of the courtyard using ground-penetrating radar was conducted, as was a survey of the masonry within the old walls of the palace using thermography.
Monitoring of damage and failures in presentable hall of Fürstenberg Palace, Mala Strana, Prague
Drdácký, Miloš ; Zíma, Pavel
The report describes and analyses damage and failure of historic structures and relates them to a long term monitoring of movement in cracks and temperature fluctuations.
Fracture of glass panels above the study room in the library of the Czech Academy of Sciences
Drdácký, Miloš ; Hlobil, Michal
The report describes the current state of the damaged glass panels above the study room in the library of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The fractured glass panels are documented and a recommendation is given to minimize their future damage.
Assessment of the quality of wooden roof structure, ceiling structures in probes, joinery elements and masonry of the historic building named “Nove Probosstvi”, Prazsky Hrad, nam. sv. Jiri č.p. 34
Drdácký, Miloš ; Frankl, Jiří ; Kloiber, Michal
The report includes the results of the study focusing on the material properties of historical wooden roof structure and assessment of the state regarding the planned building reconstruction.
Material characterization of historical roofing slate tiles and assessment of the state regarding the planned building reconstruction.
Drdácký, Miloš ; Slížková, Zuzana ; Frankeová, Dita ; Hasníková, Hana ; Hauková, Petra ; Koudelková, Veronika ; Kozlovcev, Petr ; Valach, Jaroslav ; Wolf, Benjamin
The report includes the results of the study focusing on the material properties of historical roofing slate tiles and assessment of the state regarding the planned building reconstruction.
Material analyses of plaster samples of the historical building named “Nové Probošství”, Pražský hrad, nám. sv. Jiří č.p. 34.
Drdácký, Miloš ; Slížková, Zuzana ; Frankeová, Dita ; Hasníková, Hana ; Hauková, Petra ; Koudelková, Veronika ; Kozlovcev, Petr ; Ševčík, Radek ; Wolf, Benjamin
The report contains the results of the material analyses of plasters and stone samples taken from the facades and interior plasters of the historical building named “Nové Probošství” (Pražský hrad, nám. sv. Jiří č.p. 34).). The topic of the study was determination of the chemical composition and the microstructure of historical plasters and renders, sandstone petrography, porosity of materials by means of MIP, water absorption of plasters by tubes, the water content and the moisture distribution in masonry wall, the content and the chemical composition of water-soluble salts in plasters and renders. The results of the study serves as the basis for the future design of the building renovation and the restoration of the artistic elements.\n
Comprehensive research report to experimental work on fatigue crack initiation in the sandstone and research of influences of the consolidation for fracture behavior in cases of cracks
Šperl, Martin ; Drdácký, Miloš ; Jandejsek, Ivan
Fatigue crack initiation in the sandstone specimens (location – Božanov) was made using a resonant testing machine in three point bending mode. It produced the geometrically similar damage. Subsequent fracture tests made it possible to assess the effect of the consolidation solutions on fracture properties of the material investigated.
