Burda, P. ; Novotný, Jaroslav ; Šístek, Jakub ; Damašek, Alexandr
We deal with modelling of flows in channels with abrupt changes of the diameter. We use a posteriori error estimates and adaptive strategy. We obtain solution with desired precision also in the vicinity of the corner, though there is a singularity.

Our goal is to develop an efficient implementation of the BDDC method, which could be used fo solution of large problems of today's computational mechanics and structural analysis. A parallel approach is necessary for the usage of powerfull computer resources. We present results of computations of practical problems in 3D elasticty.

We deal with the Balancing domain decomposition with constraints method (BDDC) applied to 3D elasticity. Theoretical framework is recalled in the first part. The second part describes implementation of the method on parallel computers. Several numerical results of practical problems of structural analysis are presented.

Balancing Domain Decomposition with Constrained Energy Minimization (BDDC) derives benefit from the synergy effect between substructuring methods and multigrid approaches to preconditioning. It has been shown in several studies, that this method posseses very good properties and is competitive with FETI and FETI-DP methods, which could be mentioned among leading algorithms in the field of unstructured meshes decomposition for solving partial differential equations.
Solution of Interaction of Viscous Incompressible Fluid with Elastically Mounted Body using ALE-method
Damašek, Alexandr ; Burda, P.
We deal with twodimensional problem of vibrations of valve plug of steam turbine induced by flow of viscous incompressible fluid. Fluid is described using Navier-Stokes equations and continuity equation. For the body of the valve plug large displacements and rotations are considered. We take into account moving geometry of the fluid domain in time. Numerical solution of the problem of interaction is based on ALE-method which enables independent description of the fluid domain and elastically supported body. For spatial discretization of the fluid domain finite element method is used.
Finite element modelling of viscous incompressible fluid flow in glottis
Damašek, Alexandr ; Burda, P.
he paper deals with numericalcomputations of viscous incompressible fluid flow in glottis describedby Navier-Stokes equations and discretized bythe finite element method. Navier-Stokes equations with the nonlinearterm are discretized by semiimplicit integration scheme. Forhigher Reynolds number fluid flow Streamline Upwind Petrov-Galerkin Method - SUPG. This method uses special weight functions which modify shape functions based on the Galerkin principle.
