The effect of early independent bipedal locomotion on further psychomotor development children younger school age
Kavenová, Markéta ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Žiaková, Elena (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focused on the influence of the timing of independent bipedal locomotion and other developmental milestones in the first year of a child's life on the movement abilities of children at younger school age. The null hypothesis states as follows: Early bipedal locomotion and in general the early development of a child has a positive effect on the later psychomotor abilities of children at younger school age. An alternative hypothesis is formulated as follows: Early bipedal locomotion and in general the early development of the child has no or a negative effect on the later psychomotor skills of children at younger school age. Methods: Data collection was first carried out through a questionnaire survey. The parents of the children, selected for the study, filled out a questionnaire regarding the timing of their children's developmental milestones. Then was performed a test of the children's motor skills. The children were tested using the TGMD tests, the Bruininks-Oseretsky test and using the assessment of the quality of positions and movements based on psychomotor development. Results: The results showed, that the timing of development and independent bipedal locomotion does not affect the motor skills of children at younger school age. Thanks to this finding, it is possible to...
Development of imitation capability in children in the first half year of life
Tobolková, Tereza ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Žiaková, Elena (referee)
Introduction: The Bachelor thesis is dedicated to monitoring the development of imitation abilities in children up to 6 months of age. The monitoring of the children took place in the home environment. Goal: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to confirm and map imitation skills in children. It also compares the importance of exercise imitation and whether children's ability to imitate depends on their gender. Methods: The study involved 11 children who had to meet the conditions of participation in the study. The exclusionary criterion was facts that would have prevented the child from performing the imitation. The children underwent a total of 4 visits, where their mother or I performed 3 simple orofacial gestures for the children. The gestures were: tongue protrusion, mouth opening and lip protrusion. Video footage was taken of the gesture modelling. Results: Based on monitoring of children, imitation could be confirmed in children up to 6 months of age. However, none of the children showed a constant imitation throughout the first half year of life. For most of the hypotheses tested by me, was not possible to reject the null hypothesis at 5% of the level of significance, except for the hypothesis concerning gestures imitated by children. This hypothesis demonstrated that children are most...
Physiotherapy of child with diagnosis of pes equinovarus and skeletal dysplasia
Beranová, Pavlína ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Žiaková, Elena (referee)
This work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, information on congenital developmental defects of the locomotor apparatus is processed, especially the characteristics of the two diseases of the subject - Pes equinovarus congenitus and skeletal dysplasia. An important chapter is the detailed description of Multiple Epiphyseal Dysplasia. It is a rare disease that is difficult to diagnose and awareness about it is very low. The practical part is processed in the form of a case study of a child with given diagnoses. It is built on the basis of the method and procedure of physiotherapy, which is appropriate for the age of the subject. It consists of common simple exercises, typical for children of her age, which she can easily remember. The thesis contains an entrance and exit examination, a description of individual exercises and a record of the progress of individual therapeutic units. In the conclusion, the results of the work and the confirmation of individual hypotheses are evaluated. Since one of the assumptions of my work was the rare occurrence of multiple musculoskeletal disorders at the same time, the practical part also includes a questionnaire that maps the occurrence and characteristics of movement disorders among members of the Achilleus...
Public awareness of psychomotor development and predilection head posture in children under one year
Soukupová, Klára ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Žiaková, Elena (referee)
Title: Informovanost veřejnosti o predilekčním držení hlavy u dětí do jednoho roku Public awareness of psychomotor development and predilection head posture in children under one year The aim of the work: To determine public awareness of psychomotor development and predilection head posture in children under one year through randomly picked groups of respondents. To summarize knowledge about this topic as well as help to raise awareness. Method: A non - standardized public survey was performed online using Google Forms from February 22 to March 22nd , 2023. There are two surveys discovering knowledge about psychomotor development in children, predilection head posture and Sudden infant death syndrome. The first survey is designed for the general public without any experience taking care of children with predilect head posture. The second one is designed for parents and guardians of children with diagnosed predilect head posture. It contains 10 questions about the development of a specific child that has been diagnosed with predilect head posture. 504 respondents answered. The survey for the general public was answered by 403 respondents and the second survey was answered by 101 respondents. The respondents were both men and women between 18 and 50 years of age. Results: The survey shows that the...
Comparison of psychomotor development of twins during the first year of life
Hladíková, Kristina ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Žiaková, Elena (referee)
The main objective: The aim of the work was to evaluate the quantitative and qualitative differences in psychomotor development between twins within a sibling pair of twins and to find out whether the twins are more similar in reaching motor milestones compared to other children. Another goal was to find out whether monozygotic twins are more identical in development compared to dizygotic. It was further investigated whether the achievement of motor milestones between children with low and very low birth weight and normal birth weight differs. The study examined in which motor milestone the siblings differ the most and also whether the twins develop according to the ideal motor development. Methods: During the first year of life, 6 pairs of twins were observed. To participate in the study, the twins had to be maximum of 3 months old according to corrected age. The exclusion criterion was only a serious developmental defect. The examination of the children took place at thein homes in the 3rd, 6th, 8th week, in 3 months and then every month for up to one year. Parents were asked about basic anamnestic data (eg. birth weight, zygosity etc.). During the observation, photo- and video-documentation of the children during spontaneous movement was taken. In children, the quantitative achievement of 14...
The survey of home care therapist's feedback on Vojta reflex locomotion method in children
Dvořáková, Kristýna ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Zvelebilová, Pavlína (referee)
Vojta's reflex locomotion method is one of the most frequently used physiotherapy methods for children with movement disorders, which causes restriction of their movement, that most often leads to crying, which can have negative effect on the feelings of their parents (referred to as home care therapists in this thesis), who practice this method several times a day with their children. Goals: The goal of this work is to gain awarness of the opinion of home care therapists on Vojta's reflex locomotion method and to find out the influence of this method on the home care therapist's feelings, what level of instruction do home care therapists have, how children express themselves during therapy and whether these areas affect each other or the overall evaluation of Vojta's reflex locomotion method. Methods: It is an anonymous questionnaire survey, which was answered by 54 respondents. Only 50 respondents met the entry criteria. The quistions in the survey can be divided into six categories - information about the child, the home care therapist and Vojta's reflex locomotion method, Vojta's reflex locomotion method and social life of the home care therapist, Vojta's reflex locomotion method and SARS- CoV-2, the relationship between the home care therapist and physiotherapist and overall evaluation of...
Vojta method in neonatology
Augustinová, Kamila ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Kláserová, Kamila (referee)
This bachelor work occupies itself with the use of Vojta's method in neonathology and at the children with some genetic defect. In the introduction there is a definition of Vojta's method, along with its origin, exploitation and means that are used in order to achieve the best results. There is also a kinetic evolution of the child and tests, thanks to which it is possible to determinate what is wrong within the evolution. Moreover, a specialised branch of medicine - neonatology is mentioned there, which demonstrates its use in modern medicine, basic terms referring to this branch and the first examination of the newborn. In the practical part an examination by the physiotherapist is described, which defines, which part of the Vojta's method will be used in order to achieve the best results at the cure. In the enclosure there are photographs of the chosen children the research is based on and these photographs show, how the examinations and the therapies should be performed.
