Peristaltic pump control via USB interface
Balogh, Jaroslav ; Chmelař, Milan (referee) ; Čech, Petr (advisor)
The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to practical realization of connection between peristaltic pump Rainin Dynamax RP-1 and PC, using USB interface. Integrated circuit device FT232R has been used in USB-RS422 converter, due to modified RS422 interface, which the pump RP-1 uses. There was also developed software for pump’s remote controll. RP-1’s functions can be driven from remote side or eventually automatized with this software. This work is based on semestral thesis and in future can be used in another aplications with RS422 or with RP-1 pump. Department of Biomedical Engineering, attached to FEEC, Brno University of Technology, will use this remote controll in analysis of DNA.
Microcontroler based On Demand Pacemaker
Daniš, Václav ; Balogh, Jaroslav (referee) ; Sekora, Jiří (advisor)
Pacemakers have nowadays become an inseparable part of treatment in a wide range of cardiovascular diseases. The topic of this bachelors degree paper refers to and proposes the implementation of a functional type of ´On Demand´ pacemaker controlled by a microcontroller. The introductory chapters focus on a more detailed, theoretical familiarization with the complex issues of permanent heart cardiostimulation. In addition to the actual theory of pacemakers and cardiostimulation, the chapters also include those significant historical aspects in the evolution of permanent cardiostimulation, the basic structures of heart anatomy and the transmission system of the heart. Also included are the recording of heart activity and ECG analysis, both physiological and pathological. In the practical part of the paper I deal with the ´On Demand´ pacemaker controlled by a microcontroller with a firm (solid, strong, steady, fixed) repeating frequency inhibited by the R wave. Subsequently, a proposed system for its implementation is created. The next step is the creation of a scheme for the electrical connections and composition of the microcontroller programme. The final part illustrates the implementation of the model of the pacemaker itself, preceded by a verification of the efficacy of the connections in a non-solder field.
Position system design
Balogh, Jaroslav ; Čížek, Martin (referee) ; Čech, Petr (advisor)
The purpose of this diploma thesis was to explore possibilities, design and build 2D position system driven by PC via USB. ATmega16 and FT232R were used as the most important parts of hardware solution. Software for control of the position system was designed in C++ Builder and it can run under MS Windows XP. This work is based on semestral thesis and in future can be used in other applications or modified. 2D position system will be later used by UBMI in education and scientific applications.
Dynamic plantography
Grossmann, David ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Balogh, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis contains introduction to the principles of dynamic plantography and it´s clinical application. Afterwards it is described feet anatomy, types of feet arch and human walking process. Next part describes principles of various types of tactile sensors and electrical platform Arduino. Most important part of this thesis is focused on teoretical design of device and it’s practical realization. The last part of diploma thesis is devoted to discussion of parameters of the device and to results of measuring of group of volunteers.
Device for measuring the ECG signal
Borkovec, Michal ; Harabiš, Vratislav (referee) ; Balogh, Jaroslav (advisor)
This work deals with designing the circuit worthy for the acquisition and display of the ECG signal from the patient. The theoretical part was staged anatomy of the heart, its electrical activity and the ECG signal acquisition opportunities. On the basis of the theoretical part, was designed circuits and software for the acquisition of ECG signal and its subsequent display. It was a series of measurements on the simulator to verify the correctness of a circuit design software.
Device for measuring the electrical activity of muscles
Slouka, Petr ; Chmelař, Milan (referee) ; Balogh, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis contains introduction to the basic principles of creation and transmission of action potentials. Afterwards it is outlined development of electromyography which is used for measuring electrical signals from muscles and attributes of electromyographic signal. Next part describes design of the device for measuring electrical activity of muscles. Thesis contains diagrams of the integrated circuit, design of printed circuit board and list of components which are needed for realization of the device.
Oscilloscope with the Android Operating System
Paštěka, Richard ; Balogh, Jaroslav (referee) ; Sekora, Jiří (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with the design of digital oscilloscope using the Arduino development kit. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the basic parameters of digital oscilloscopes, sampling types and general characteristics of A/D converters. The thesis further focuses on the description of the development platform Arduino Mega ADK. The practical part describes the steps in the implementation of the oscilloscope. The general design transfers to a specific description of software and hardware solutions. The software consists of two mutually communicating programs. First, program of the microcontroller performs data acquisition. The second is used to render the measured waveforms on the computer screen. Hardware appropriately adjusts the measuring signal for measurement purposes befor Arduino Mega ADK platform. In the results the evaluation of the created oscilloscope waveforms and parameters is given tested by using a function generator.
Measurement and control of O2 in the atmosphere and the liquid within the cell incubators
Nečasová, Barbora ; Balogh, Jaroslav (referee) ; Sekora, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the measurement and regulation of oxygen in the atmosphere and in liquid inside incubators for cell culture. It is based on specified requirements and parameters set by the Laboratory of the Biophysics of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication of BUT (FEKT VUT). In the theoretical part, types and principles of sensors are described. The theoretical part describes the types and principles of the sensors. The main part of the thesis is focused on the design and subsequent realization of oxygen sensor using a microcontroller.
ECG measurement using BIOPAC system
Kotek, Lukáš ; Rozman, Jiří (referee) ; Balogh, Jaroslav (advisor)
The main aim of this bachelor project is to acquainted with BIOPAC system and with the theory of electrocardiography. After investigation of possibilities to retrieve analog and digital data as well as measurement of ECG signal was developed circuit enable to convert analog signals to digital and then export digital signal via USB to the PC. Developed circuit is based on integrated circuits ATmega8 a FT232RL. Visual Studio was used to create application for registration and calculation power spectrum ECG signal in C#.
Analysis of AVG signals
Janeček, David ; Balogh, Jaroslav (referee) ; Rozman, Jiří (advisor)
This semestral project deals with analytical arteriovelocitogram (AVG). In the first part I a question of collection data AVG curve. Doppler effect and principal of Doppler‘s systems whose assistance data gain is analyzed in this semestral project. In the next part I focus on methods of analytic signals AVG. This means discribing the curve, calculating coefficients or methods for correct evaluation of the signal. These analyzes should categorize the measured data into groups according to pathological changes, of which doctors will determine the next course of treatment. The final chapter deals with the method of cluster analysis to classify data measured by Doppler systems. I deal with the algorithm method and choose the best clustering procedure. In the following section I concern with the practical part. I describe the data which were provided, the program selected for the analysis and the description of the alghoritm. The last chapter describes the results I’ve obtained.
