Generic drugs and generic substitution from the patient perspective I. Autor: Jana Novotná Supervisor: PharmDr. Josef Malý, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague Introduction: Generic substitution and generic drugs are important instruments of drug policy in many countries, which allow to reduce price of medicines, while maintaining their quality. Experience shows that a prerequisite for the rational use of both instruments is sufficient awareness among both health professionals and patients. Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the opinions, knowledge and experience of patients regarding generic drugs and generic substitution. Methods: Data were collected between 1 March 2015 and 31 March 2015 in a workplace practitioner in Prague. It was an observational survey. We contacted all patients who visited a doctor during that period. Patients had to agree to their inclusion in the investigation and also meet "inclusion criteria" (e.g., at least 18 years old, literate in Czech, long-term use at least one medicine). Eva Stupková Supervisor: PharmDr. Jan Babica, Ph.D. Title of rigorosum thesis: Products of Black Eagle Pharmacy at Malá Strana district of Prague This thesis is focused on products of Black Eagle Pharmacy in years 1857-1930. Throughout these years subsequently Benjamin, Karel and Jiří Fragner were the head pharmacists. The pharmacy offered many products in various forms (the oldest ones include Prague Universal Household Ointment or Dr. Rosa's Balsam). At the beginning of the 20th century the range of goods was even wider. The pharmacy produced medi- cinal products (such as Buccavacedrol, Galegol, etc.) as well as dairy products, sweets and other goodies. In the 20's the variety of products increased to such a degree that the production had to be moved to a B. Fragner factory in Dolní Měcholupy. Some of the medicinal products were still made by the end of 20th century (Jopton, Guanar, Hysteps, etc.). In some instances the name has changed but the contents remained close to the original up to this day (Thymomel). Core of this thesis is a chronologically ordered list of products. The pharmacist has an indispensable role in the process of minimizing risks and resolving of drug interactions. Objectives: The aim of the thesis was to carry out a research focused on drug interactions of selected groups of cardiovascular drugs and to describe their management in clinical practice, which could be used during dispensing medicine. Then was evaluated occurrence of these drug interactions in pharmacotherapy of community pharmacy patients. Methods: With the help of selected databases were described individual drug interactions of ACEI and created their management in clinical practice. Generic drugs and generic substitution from the patient perspective II. The aim of this thesis was to carry out an research which was focused on attitudes, opinions and experiences of patients (general public) regarding generic drugs and generic substitution and to analyze extracted results. Metodology: Data were collected since February to June 2016 in a workplace practicioner in Jičín. We asked all patients who came to the doctor's office during that period. Data were collected through printing anonymous questionnaire. The questionnaire was piloted. Patients got a cover letter with questionnaire together. Respondents were categorized based on the cover letter and the questionnaire was filled out by the respondents who the survey was focused on. Title: History of apothecaries in Carlsbad Author: Jitka Vaňková Department: Social and Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor: Mgr. Ladislava Valášková, PhD. Abstract in English In my dissertation (diploma work) I occupied myself with the history of pharmacy in Carlsbad. The main aim of this work was to find out when each chemist's arose in the town, who and when its owner, commissioner, tenant or professional deputy was, also how many chemists' there were in the monitored time. Concurrently, I tried to discover any accessible facts with the topic of pharmacy in Carlsbad. In the first part of my dissertation I occupied myself with the history, architecture and spa theme in the town, but also with the coexistence of Czechs and Germans in the frontier. In the next part, I described briefly the development of pharmacy from its very beginning until the present, its particular developmental periods and, in the end of the chapter, I focused mainly on pharmacy development in our country. In the fourth chapter I dealt with the chemists' development in Carlsbad.
History of Production of Drugs and Medical Preparations VI. Zdeněk Klan Company and the Partial Inventory of its Products

The diploma thesis deals with the history of the production of medicines and medicinal products, the company of Zdeněk Klan and a partial inventory of specialties. The aim of the thesis was to map the time, which was characterized by the industrial production of drugs and medicines, the so-called specialties. Zdeněk Klan was able to take advantage of the situation and build his own company Dr. Mr. Zdeněk F. Klan pharmaceutical-chemical laboratory, operating in the years 1924-1948. He was able to compete with other companies with his products. The production was focused mainly on application forms for internal medicine. In addition to human preparations, he also produced preparations for veterinary use. The Klan Company succumbed to the process of nationalization in 1948, when all companies with more than 50 employees were nationalized and subsequently abolished. On the basis of the study of mainly archival sources stored in the Czech Pharmaceutical Museum in Kuks, a thesis was prepared describing this company from its establishment to nationalization. His CV was also prepared. Aromatherapy and Pharmacies in the Czech Republic Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague, The Czech Republic Author: Anna Hamrová Thesis supervisor: PharmDr. Jitka Pokladníková, Ph.D. Introduction and objective: Aromatherapy represents a method of alternative and complementary medicine. However, up to date, there have not been published any studies which would focus on pharmacists' and pharmacy technicians' opinion on this particular treatment method. This has provided us an incentive to investigate given topic. The main objective of this thesis is thus to further specify the attitudes, knowledge and awareness of Czech pharmacists and pharmacy technicians of aromatherapy. Methods: The thesis draws from pilot research project. For the research the method of cross-sectional questionnaire survey was used. The data was collected during the period of mid-September till end of October 2020. The data was subsequently analytically processed in Microsoft Excel. Results: The questionnaire was filled by 246 respondents (192 pharmacists and 54 pharmacy technicians). In the Czech Republic, there is not enough information for rational drug taking during gravidity yet. The purpose of the practical part was to identify and analyze therapy used by pregnant women by questionnaires, in which respondents could show their knowledge and awareness of over-the-counter drugs, medical devices, food supplements and herbal and homeopatic remedies. Methods: The data collection lasted from August 2017 to March 2018 and was performed in the form of questionnaires at the Domažlice Hospital, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Nurses played a vital role to distribute the questionnaires and instruct every newly admitted woman how to fill them.
