European private international law - selected issues
Černý, Dalibor ; Pauknerová, Monika (advisor) ; Brodec, Jan (referee)
This thesis is dedicated to the European Private International Law, namely to a special part of this branch of law, to contractual and non-contractual obligations. These obligations are not governed by the direct uniform rules within the European Union because there are still very significant differences between the laws of the Member states. Since there are no direct uniform rules (even though there is a strong approach towards the European Civil Code for quite some time) to govern these areas, there must be a tool to secure the justice and legal certainty. Today, these tools are the conflict rules that are contained in hereafter mentioned pieces of European legislation. Chapter 1 is a general introduction to the European Private International Law and explains what topics this thesis will deal with. Chapter 2 deals with the general terms of European Private International Law and with different methods of creating the rules that are governing this area of law. Chapter 3 covers the sources of European Private International Law, their system and conflicts between them. Chapter 4 tries to briefly show the development of the regulation of European Private International Law within the European Community. Chapter 5 concentrates on the Rome convention on the law applicable to contractual obligations. This chapter...
Dysfunction of Endothelium in Relationship to Experimentally Induced
Černý, Dalibor ; Nachtigal, Petr (advisor) ; Štaud, František (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Rigorous Thesis - Abstract Name: Mgr. Dalibor Černý Year: 2007 Dysfunction of Endothelium in Relationship to Experimentally Induced Anthracycline Drugs' Toxicity Endothelial dysfunction is defined as functional lesion of endothelium, characterized by increased permeability of vessel wall, by imbalance among vasoactive, coagulative and proliferation influencing active substances, in result leading to increased expression of cell adhesion molecules VCAM-1 and ICAM-1, which are considered as standard morphological markers of its progress. Adhesion molecules VCAM-1 and ICAM-1 play an important role in building-up of inflammatory reaction and take part in various pathological stages. They are expressed by endothelial cells, by scavenger cells, macrophages and smooth muscle cells. The aim of this rigorous thesis was to examine whether long-lasting daunorubicin administration leads except of significant changes in heart also to the progress of endothelial dysfunction. Imunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expression of these adhesion molecules. Then, the selected heart parameters like LVEF (left ventriculum eject fraction), FS (fractional shortening) and dP/dtmax index, that means peak...
Dispute Settlement System in the World Trade Organization, developments and future prospects
Černý, Dalibor
The subject matter of this dissertation entitled "Dispute Settlement System in the World Trade Organization, developments and future prospects" is to examine dispute settlement system in the world trade, since the establishment of the World Trade Organization's predecessor - the GATT, until now. Besides the historical introduction into the area, the dissertation provides a comparison of these two consecutive systems and their main goals. Using available corresponding case law provided by panels and the Appellate Body, this dissertation covers the procedures and principles based on which the dispute settlement system currently stands. The secondary but not less important topic are the developing countries, their role in the system and inequality of the system related thereto. This inequality of the system lies mainly in the compliance issues. The dispute settlement system includes certain remedies in order to enforce the decisions and recommendations of the respective tribunals, but it is fair to say that they are not effective enough and tend to favour the developed countries. This dissertation also tries to find the solutions to the listed problems, mainly from the perspective of a proper compliance.
Study on intracellular signal molecules of carbon monoxide and nitric oxide related to hepatotoxic and hepatoprotective effects of selected substances
Černý, Dalibor ; Farghali, Hassan (advisor) ; Kršiak, Miloslav (referee) ; Vítek, Libor (referee)
Background and aims: Treatment of acute fulminant liver damage arising as a result of various origins (ischemia-reperfusion injury, toxic shock, an infectious cause or cholestasis) still remains a major clinical problem. We currently do not have available clinically proven, pharmacologically effective and universal compound for the treatment of acute liver injury. The main aim of my research work was, therefore, to test the potential hepatoprotective effect of selected cytoprotective drugs and try to find out or suggest their mechanism of action, which we have examined in the systems for the intracellular gaseous signaling molecules NO and CO, where the key enzymes for their formation are NOS / HO respectively. My PhD study had two main directions: 1) Experimental study of the relationship between HO / CO and NOS / NO systems in the environment of hepatotoxic substances on isolated primary rat hepatocytes and in rat model, 2) Evaluation of ameliorative effect of selected substances in the hepatotoxicity models and to test the relationship of this effect on changes in some parameters of cytotoxicity / cytoprotection, antioxidant parameters, gene expression of mRNA for selected genes and histological changes in the state of cells / tissues / organs. Methods: We measured urea, bilirubin and liver...

The study of hypolipidemic drug treatment on the atherogenic process in the vessel wall in experimental model of atherosclerosis III.
