Credit risk in export and methods of its hedging (illustrated on particular enterprise)

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to illustrate how enterprises deal with credit risk assisted by commercial banks. The thesis focuses on payment and hedging Instruments such as bank guarantee, documentary credit and documentary collection. The work is divided into three chapters and contains 13 attachments. The first part will be short introduction to different types of risks in international trade and namely credit risk. Second part is devoted to particular payment and hedging instruments. Last part is result of a research directly in the bank and illustrates the usage of these instruments in practical trade. It contains three cases, in which Slovak exporters, importers and suppliers used or were forced to use payment and hedging instruments.
The European Economic and Monetary union: Pros and Risks for the Czech Republic

The intention of this essay is to evaluate pros and risks related to the Czech republics joining the European Economic and Monetary union (EMU). It reviews the present condition of economy and meeting the Maastricht criteria. It compares the development of economy though indexes of inflation and the gross domestic product (GDP) in EMU countries and the countries outside EMU. The last part gives attention to the analysis of cyclic and structural harmonization of Czech economy with EMU. The essay makes use of the Theory of Optimal Currency Areas (Mundell).

The aim of my thesis was to find out which role do the short term credits play a in the market economy. Then I wanted to describe which kinds of risks have to manage the trade partners, if they decide to give a credit. And the major part of my work was about the credit risks management. I tried to describe the ways, how the companies can secure themselves against risks.
The Role of Leasing in International Business

The purpose of the thesis is to analyze the importance of leasing in the frame of international business, compare its role in different economies and present its possible future evolution as a method of assets acquiring also with respect to the impacts of the economic crisis. In the thesis, the leasing is presented from different aspects and its historical evolution is mentioned. In the practical part of the work, evolution on leasing markets in selected geographical areas is described on basis of which the role of leasing in international business in different parts of the world is analyzed.

The objective of the thesis is to analyze numerous project financing possibilities in the Czech Republic. The thesis introduces the framework of project finance, together with its definition and fundamental characteristics. Furthermore it aims to identify the issues of risk analysis and risk management. The final section of the thesis provides an overview of the current global project finance trends and identifies the situation in the Czech Republic. Additionally, the thesis includes a case study of the first Czech energy finance project - ECKG Kladno.
The Impact of Financial Crisis on Competitivness of Czech Exporting Companies

The goal of this thesis is to analyze what the impact of current financial crisis and economic slowdown will be on Czech exporting companies. Firstly the causes of financial crisis are described. it is followed by the analysis of the primary impact of financial crisis in the Czech Republic - the impact on banking sector and liquidity. The economic slowdown on foreign markets is considered as the secondary impact. Finally some possible solutions on how to improve the competitiveness are offered.

Práce Proces formování měnové unie EU v 90. letech se věnuje procesu vytváření tohoto měnového uskupení, přijatým krokům a opatřením nutným při uskutečňování tohoto úkolu. První kapitola se věnuje teoretickému vymezení měnové unie, jejím výhodám a nevýhodám. Druhá kapitola popisuje události konce 80. let, které vedly ke znovuobnovení procesu měnové integrace. Další tři kapitoly popisují jednotlivé fáze tvorby Evropské měnové unie. Závěrečná kapitola se věnuje implikaci na ČR. Hodnotí stav dosažené nominální i reálné konvergence a možná budoucí rizika, která souvisí s přijetím jednotné měny v České republice.

Tato měnová zóna je rovněž konfrontována s teorií Roberta Mundella o optimálních měnových oblastech. Poslední část práce se věnuje aplikaci získaných poznatků na Českou republiku.
Current questions of the Czech Republic's preparation for the entry to the Eurozone

The present work deals with problems of the euro acceptance as a single currency in the economic conditions of the Czech Republic. In the first chapter the history and development of currency systems anticipating the European Monetary Union is outlined with the focus on Western Europe. The second chapter characterises the European Economic and Monetary Union and describes the particular phases of its origin. In the third chapter it is analysed which of the 5 Maastricht criteria the Czech Republic fulfils. The fourth chapter evaluates the level of convergence between the Czech Republic and the Eurozone in the economic areas. This includes also technical, legislative and institutional aspects. The final part analyses the entire process of the euro implementation including scenario, principles and schedule of the successive steps. The advantages and disadvantages of this process are discussed and the present economic and political situation in Europe and the Czech Republic concerning the euro is evaluated.
