Jean Sibelius: life and work, 2 versions of concerto op. 47

This bachelor thesis is about the most significant music composer of Finland – Jean Sibelius, about his life since childhood till his death. It documents his work, also describes the circumstances of making his only violin concert, which was created in two versions, which are also compared here.

The thesis is divided into 4 main chapters. The first and the second chapters are about biographies. The first chapter is dedicated to Brahms ́s life in period of composing the concerto. In the second chapter you can find artist ́s biographies. The third chapter describes musical form of the concerto. The fourth chapter deals with the main topic of the bachelor ́s thesis – comparing of performances.

This thesis is focused on analysis of chamber music works by Czech composer Zdeněk Fibich. Thesis also contains his curriculum vitae. It summarizes the background in the history of Fibich's chamber composition and points to the possibility of accepting Fibich's work as the only purely romantic footprint in Czech 19th century music.

My aim is to analyze basic information on locomotory disorders and their solutions. This thesis suggests how to teach beginner violin and children in the correct body posture.

There have been numerous texts written about Eugene Ysaÿe. In my thesis, I will try to show that although in his six sonatas for solo violin op. 27, there are all the information necessary to play the sonatas well, however, he still leaves the interprets an infinite number of possibilities how to show their fantasy. Also, I will try to give an insight into the period of the famous Belgian violinist, especially from the violin’s point of view. He set the bar so high, it will be very difficult to surpass.

This thesis titled Jiří Pauer and chamber works with predominance of stringed instruments is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the composer's person, his studies, professions and musical style. The second part consists of listing all of Jiří Pauer’s available chamber works for string instruments. Most of the compositions include the date of creation and first performance, the year of publication and the publisher, an accessible recording, a brief analysis and the origin of the work. The third part includes the memories of his students. In the conclusion I summarize my findings.
