Analysis of relationships among prices of electricity, supplying services, regulatory energy, carbon dioxide emission allowances and primary sources of energy
Srna, Jan ; Čambala, Petr (referee) ; Macháček, Jan (advisor)
This thesis describes possibilities of electricity trading. The thesis deals with subjects at the electricity market, defines their competences, obligations and relationships among these subjects. Trading places and their advantages and disadvantages are also described in the thesis. The thesis shows composition of the electricity price and informs about its partial components. Types of ancillary services are spoken and there is also comparison between selling wholesale electricity and providing ancillary services. An influence of primary fuels and emission allowances on the electricity price is included at the end of the thesis.
Electrical machine for wind power generator
Srna, Jan ; Chmelíček, Petr (referee) ; Kurfűrst, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis describes analyse of transient and subtransient parts of short – circuit current. Values of synchronous generator short – circuit current were measured for lower voltage and subsequently recounted to its nominal values. The analyse is useful for machines without documentation and where is measurement of needed parameters necessary. Two methods coming out of the IEEE standard were used for identification reactances and time constants and after that these methods were compared between themselves. One of the method were created in program MATLAB, where measured short – circuit currents for each phase were handled. Values of time constants are used for simple model of synchronous generator created in toolbox of program MATLAB/SIMPOWER. This simulation verifies correctness of counting transient and subtransient analyses.
The impact of grandchildren on retirement timing: evidence from SHARE data
Srna, Jan ; Pertold-Gebicka, Barbara (advisor) ; Votápková, Jana (referee)
This thesis examines the role of grandchildren's existence in the retirement timing decision- making process of grandparents. Previous literature has focused mostly on other aspects of retirement and potential causes that can affect its timing. Using the Two-Stage least squares estimation on the SHARE dataset, representing 17 European countries and Israel, we estimate the desired effect with respect to various data limitations (age groups, gender, child existence). Residential proximity is used as the instrument for estimation. Having at least one grandchild yields a statistically significant result that increases on average the likelihood of retirement by 19% when compared to a non-grandparent while holding other factors constant. As a secondary outcome, the estimated effect of an additional child on retirement likelihood is negative. Estimates of the role of non-tariff measures in trade between CZE/EU and Japan
Srna, Jan ; Semerák, Vilém (advisor) ; Palanský, Miroslav (referee)
Japan and the European Union negotiated and ratified an agreement about free-trade area that came into effect in January 2019. There haven't been enough data for Japan and the Czech Republic to show the actual impact yet. Gravity model is a useful tool for international trade that can be used to estimate the effect. Various types of methods are used for estimation. The main ones used here in this paper are Random effects and Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood (PPML) estimator. According to PPML model, the impact of the treaty is expected to be 57.3% increase of imports. The model shows positive trade potential for Japan and the Czech Republic. Especially for Japan there is a large gap between model prediction and actual values which means a small trade creation is expected. However, the most of the increasement of bilateral trade should be originated from trade diversion.

The Project of the Evaluation of Purchasing Strategy of Selected Commodity
Srna, Jan ; Wessely, Michal (referee) ; Jurová, Marie (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with power purchasing. The thesis describes trading places including description of their advantages and disadvantages, shows subjects at the electricity markets and defines their competence, obligations and relationships among these subjects. The thesis deals with composition of the electricity price. Further actual company purchasing strategy of the electricity is showed. An proposal of the purchasing optimalization is described at the end of the thesis.
