Bulk-driven current mirrors
Kováčik, Martin ; Prokop, Roman (referee) ; Khateb, Fabian (advisor)
My bachelor’s thesis is about bulk-driven CMOS principle for several analog circuit projects. A substrate gate is used for signal input to achieve low supply voltage and low wattage while keeping parameters adequate to current structures. The goal of my work was to design current mirror with low supply voltage and low wattage with usage of this principle. In my work there are basic data about bulk-driven technology and MOFSET transistors used in this technology. My project contains different kinds of schemes of bulk-driven current mirrors which are compared with conventional gate-driven current mirror. These circuits are simulated in Orcard Pspise program.

Mudroch, Michal ; Kledrowetz, Vilém (referee) ; Prokop, Roman (advisor)
In this diploma thesis there is elaborated design of low-voltage power supply block using I3T25 technology. The theoretical part describes the basic structures used in the design, using CMOS and bipolar devices. Furthermore, the properties and the analysis used in the evaluation are described. In the design part there is an elaborated design of individual parts, including voltage references, current references, DAC converter, operational amplifier. In the last part, the power supply block is subjected to simulations for verification of temperature compensated output variables and analyzed circuit functionality.
Channel Merging Techniques for improving Dynamic Range of ± 10 V Signal Chain Channel
Analysis and realization of frequency filter tunable by active component parameter
Vrba, Adam ; Khateb, Fabian (referee) ; Prokop, Roman (advisor)
This work analyzes tuning capabilities of different fully integrated active filter topologies. Work only deals with continuous time active filters. Topologies described in this work differ in type of active element and in method of frequency tuning. Techniques of tunning are proved on second order low pass filter. Filter topologies are compared from tunning capabilities and from point of total harmonic distortion. The main building block of all filters is integrator.

Hejlek, Pavel ; Háze, Jiří (referee) ; Prokop, Roman (advisor)
This work is dealing with phase lock loop design. In the theoretical part is principal description. In the practical part is detailed mathematical description, choice of various blocks, design calculation and optimalization of final solution. Designed solution is simulated and final result are commented.
Universal Emulation Platform for Checking the Designs of the Integrated Circuits
Podzemný, Jakub ; Kledrowetz, Vilém (referee) ; Prokop, Roman (advisor)
This work deals with verification possibilities of integrated circuits, especially with hardware emulation. The first part of the text briefly describes designing process of an integrated circuit, which includes emulation using emulation platforms. The main part of this work deals with the innovation of the emulation platform, which is used by SCG Czech Design Center s. r. o. Possible ways to improve the current emulation platform are explored and further taken into account when designing a universal emulation platform. Last part of this work deals with functional verification of the proposed universal emulation platform. Functionality will be verified by emulation of the basic control functions of the NCP1246 circuit.
Deasign and development of programable notch filter for audio circuits
Dohnal, Jaroslav ; Prokop, Roman (referee) ; Háze, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis discusses harmonic distortion and its measurement in the audio bandwidth using notch and tracking notch filters. The first chapter defines harmonic distortion and ways how harmonic distortion can be measured. The second chapter describes different notch filter topologies and their realizations for use in an audio band. It also describes the tracking part of a tracking notch filter. The third chapter shows a design of a notch filter using the state-variable topology, board layout and a control module for this programmable notch filter. It also describes A/D converter with USB interface used for making measurements in chapter four.
Design of the tunable second order switched capacitor frequency filter
Bragina, Tatiana ; Kledrowetz, Vilém (referee) ; Prokop, Roman (advisor)
Thesis describes analog filters topologies with capability of tuning of the main parameters and the MOSFET-C and switched-capacitor filters are described. With focus to linearity and maximal tuning range optimal topology have been chosen. In work the issue of analog switch design is described and is solved. Design of switched-capacitor low-pass Sallen-key filter in Cadence software was made and simulation results are presented.
Design of precise bandgap reference in ACMOS process
Kacafírek, Jiří ; Prokop, Roman (referee) ; Ing. Petr Kadaňka, ON Semiconductor v Rožnově p. Radhoštěm (advisor)
In this thesis the principle of voltage reference especially bangap reference is described. Below are described two circuits of this type designed in ACMOS process. There is handmade evaluation of error analysis to identify main error contributors and also monte-carlo simulation. Also statistical analysis is made on the circuit. Results of all methods are compared. Error of reference voltage is compared for both circuits. Circuit with bigger error is optimized to achieve a better precision. Obtained results showed a good agreement of all methods, which evidences importance of hand error evaluation.
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine Sensorless Control Algorithms
Veselý, Libor ; Prokop, Roman (referee) ; Melichar,, Jiří (referee) ; Václavek, Pavel (advisor)
Algorithms of sensorless control of surface permanent magnet synchronous motors are discussed in the dissertation thesis. A method for position and speed estimation in high-speed region based on model reference adaptive system is described. Furthermore, classical approach using Kalman filtering was verified. Kalman filter expected the rotor speed to be constant as a modification of model using variable speed approach. These algorithms are not able to work at low speed region, thus a new method was proposed. This method is designed on extended Kalman filtering and uses the model which describes the stator inductance changes in - coordinates. At motor start, knowledge of initial rotor setup is required. The algorithm for initial rotor angle using high frequencies injected into the motor was proposed.
