A Suicide
Dolejší, Markéta ; Lhotová, Marie (advisor) ; Polívka, Jan (referee)
As a theme of my bachelor work I have chosen the Suicide. We all have some expirience with this topic - we all are confronted from TV, society, our neighbour, family, ourselfs. The problem of suicide is wellknown but still huge tabu. The ground of my work, exept explaining basic terms, is to answer two questions. The first is: "Are there any common signs for people with suicidal tendencies?". The second is: "What are the specificies in contanct with these people?" As I thought there are lot of common signs determing the risk of suicide. Some of them are - abusing drugs, lonellyness, depression, personality signs. Lot of people have some of these. The risk grows with the cummulation of them. In chapter about specificies in contact with this people I specified myself on contact of social worker and client with these tendencies, because of my profession. But I think this contact is almost the same as contact with "normal" people with suicidal tendencies. So principles can be usefull for anyone of us. In the 7. chapter I show an interwiew with a girl who wanted to die. She shows me a lot from her - her life, thinking, problems…In comment I'm trying to find the risk signs. The sense of my work is to show that people with suicidal tendencies aren't "psychos", but normal people in unnormal life situations doing...
Mental Anorexia and Mental Bulimia - Patient's Personality, Attitudes and Psychoterapy
Šišáková, Pavla ; Lhotová, Marie (advisor) ; Polívka, Jan (referee)
In the present Euro-American society "Eating disorders" are widespread. It can be caused by a specific personality or social and cultural contingency, a family situation or it can be triggered also by a stressful situation. However, a similar phenomenon was also known in the Middle Ages. It was not called anorexia nervosa but it was introduced almost in the same way. Women who deeply believed, wanted to prove that abnormal fasting and ascetic behaviour could show to society that it was not necessary to eat in order to live. You can live just from Gods power and love. The similar phenomenon appeared in the past as well as in the present. However the cause is different today. The second and third part is about two main strains of "Eating disorders". They are anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. A historical view is taken as well as explanations of resulting consequences due to these two disorders. The forth part contains a description of personality of anorectic and bulimic patients. In the fifth part I wrote about social and biological factors which can cause "Eating disorders". For example "Culture bound syndrom". "The theory of social womb" is analyzed in the sixth part. Two therapists V. Chvála and L. Trapková discovered this theory. The social womb is metaphor for a family system and it describes...
Family and Divorce
Valentová, Kristýna ; Lhotová, Marie (advisor) ; Polívka, Jan (referee)
The work "The Family and The Divorce" (Rodina a rozvod) discourses the problem of divorce - how it manifests in family life, life of the family members and especially the children. It is divided into six chapters. The first three chapters are talking about family and its necessity for life of every human being and about marriage and how to solve the marital problems constructively. The last three chapters concern divorce and problems linked with it. In the part concerning family the author writes about functions of a family, its evolution and actual situation of families in the Czech Republic. She deals with the importance of a family and its functionality for individual development. The author talks about divorce from the point of view of law, society and psychology and particularly discourses the child - possible consequences of divorce in child psychic and probably the best way for child - joint custody. On the other hand she discourses the Parental alienation syndrome, why and how it arises and how to reduce its effects. The work's targets define the most important problems which the child solves in connection with divorce of his or her parents. Is the divorce always stressful? Should the parents do anything to make the divorce "more comfortable" for their child or children? There are some questions the...
Risk measures - sensitivity and dynamics
Branda, Martin ; Lachout, Petr (advisor) ; Polívka, Jan (referee)
Risk measures are subject to many scientific papers and monographs published on financial portfolio optimization problem within stochastic programming. Currently there are many functionals which measure risk of random future losses according to risk managers preferences. However, their sensitivity is studied less commonly, especially according to possible changes of input data or with respect to the portfolio allocation. This thesis deals with sensitivity of two frequently discussed measures - Value at Risk (VaR) and Conditional Value at Risk (CVaR). Explicit contamination bounds for relative VaR optimization problem are expressed using general results of parametric optimization valid for quadratic programming. A numerical study and a heuristic algorithm for correlation matrices stressing are involved. Sensitivity of VaR and CVaR is studied through their derivatives with respect to the portfolio allocation. Assumptions for the derivatives are formulated, Hessians introduced and convexity is discussed. At last, some dynamic risk measures for multi-period investory models are proposed.
Public Spaces in Family Houses Districts
Svobodová, Hana ; Temelová, Jana (advisor) ; Polívka, Jan (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out whether the residents of family houses districts are satisfied with the current stage of built environment and usage of public spaces. Three focus districts were areas with family houses situated in the Prague metropolitan region (Hanspaulka, Starý Spořilov, Satalice) and eleven territorial public spaces were under examination. The research had three stages. Field mapping focused on the current stage of built environment of public spaces in focus districts. Structured observation, as the following stage, revealed the usage of those public spaces. Through the stage of semi-structured interviews, was answered the question about, how satisfied are the residents with the public spaces and if they have any changes or suggestions in order to improve those.
