GOF tests for gamma distribution

The Bachelor thesis deals with the goodness of fit test for the Gamma distribution. Initially, we show several ways how to estimate the parameters of the Gamma distribution - firstly, the maximum likelihood estimator is presented, followed by estimator gained by the method of moments and fi- nally, we introduce the new estimator based on the sample covariance. The last estimator is used for constructing the goodness of fit test for the Gamma distribution. We define the test statistics V ∗ n to this test and its asymptotic normality is derived under the assumption of the null hypothesis. At the end of the thesis the simulations are realized to obtain the empirical size of the test for various values of parameter a and parameter b which equals one. 1

The Labour Market in Traditional and Light Industry in Pre-modern and Modern Japan

In this thesis I focus on the Japanese labour market in agriculture, traditional, semi-traditional and modern light industry between the 1730s and 1950s. In the first chapter I introduce institutional theory and path dependance theory which serve as my conceptual frame. In the second chapter I present a broad definition of the modern period based on Kito's demographical periodization of Japanese history. In the third and fourth chapter I analyze the institutional structure of agriculture and by-employments that dominated the modern labour market. In conclusion I discuss the connection of this structure to heavy industry and its implications for the current dual labour market.

Calibration Estimators in Survey Sampling

V této práci se zabýváme odhady populačního úhrnu s využitím pomoc- ných informací. V práci je popsán obecný regresní odhad a předpoklady, za kterých je splněna asymptotická normalita tohoto odhadu. Dále jsou zde po- psány kalibrační odhady a zmínka o jejich asymptotické ekvivalenci s obec- ným regresním odhadem. Odvozené závěry aplikujeme na data z RADIO- PROJEKTu a porovnáme je s výsledky získanými společnostmi, které tento projekt realizovali. Na závěr pomocí simulací porovnáme skutečné pravdě- podobnosti pokrytí interval· spolehlivosti pro populační úhrn spočítané na základě teorie uvedené v této práci a na základě metod společností realizu- jících RADIOPROJEKT. 1

Causes and consequences of the existence of "freeters" in Japanese society

In this thesis I focus on the causes and consequences of the existence of freeters in current Japanese society. In the first chapter I define freeters, analyze their position on the labour market and describe the historical background of their existence. In the second chapter I concentrate on major reasons of their existence from the point of view of freeters (unwillingness to work as standard employees), companies (cost-reducing) and the labour recruitment system (specific job-hunting customs). I also consider how the existence of freeters affects working conditions of standard employees. In the third chapter I analyze the main social and demographic consequences of the existence of freeters for Japanese society through statistical data of the Japanese Ministry on Labour (MLHW).
