Seifert, Jan ; Karlík, Štěpán (referee) ; Lavický, Miloš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with a design for a new detached house on a slope, which is situated in the cadester area of the Down of Zbraslavice. The building is a two-floor house with a partial basement, which is designed for a four-member family. The house is detached. The vertical load-bearing structures are walled with clay blocks Porotherm, insulated with a contact thermal insulation system from expanded polystyren slabs. The basement is walled with permanent formwork Best and insulated with contact thermal insulation system from extruded polystyrene slabs. The building is roofed with a mono-pitched roof with 5- degree slope and exposed rafters. A garage for two cars is a part of the house.
Modernisation of agricultural building
Seifert, Jan ; Procházka, Jiří (referee) ; Sobotka, Jindřich (advisor)
The project deals with the modernization of the agricultural building which leads to a change of the using building. In an effort was to make use of the building which goes to into ruin and to create jobs in this location. The building is located on the plot no. 212 on the north of outskirts of Opatovice I.. In the area there is a cowshed and a silage trough. The former cowshed will be rebuilt into a woodworking facility constituted by manufacturing and administrative part. The silage trough will be used as a waste stock. A new outdoor wood store will be built in the northwest part of the plot. The administrative building will be added to the main building with a basement made from permanent formwork. The ground floor and the first floor are made of clay bricks and reinforced concrete cross-reinforced slab 150 mm thick. The internal partitions in the 1st floor are made of clay block prartitions 115 mm thick. The internal partitions in the 2nd floor are plasterboard 100 mm thick. Rebuilding involves a large number of demolition work for example new openings in existing walls. The whole woodworking facility will be insulated by a certified thermal insulation system 100 mm thick on the production part and 180 mm thick on the administrative part. The object is covered with saddle roof shaped letter "T" with a sheet metal cover. The original hard landscaping will be replaced by an asphalt road.
Soft Budget Constraint and Financial Crisis
Seifert, Jan ; Janda, Karel (advisor) ; Hlaváček, Michal (referee)
This work attempts to describe the role of soft budget constraint in the mature economies. The main attention is paid to the revival of the notion "soft budget constraint", because we assume that because of the current financial crisis it is important to focus on this problem. This work focuses mainly on the analysis of the U.S. financial sector, because this sector was hit by the financial crisis the most. Our effort is to find out whether the U.S. environment provides sufficient conditions for appearance of the soft budget constraint. We are especially interested in the assumption whether it is relevant to assume the presence of the soft budget constraint in the bank sector and in the consequences of its presence. Here we stress the importance of institutions and the current form of the bank sector. The next step is to analyze if under current conditions there is a positive probability that some U.S. firms do have soft budget constraint. The final part of this work covers the problems of soft budget constraint 5 and financial crisis. We analyzed a few possible solutions for the current financial crisis and compare its effects on soft budget constraint appearance in the U.S. economy.
Bank efficiency and its relation to market competition : European perspective
Malá, Barbora ; Geršl, Adam (advisor) ; Seifert, Jan (referee)
Accelerated capital market globalization has led to further deepening of banking sector integration. Wide consolidation of European banking markets resulted in increased competition, however there are still efficiency differences within the global banking sector. Although economic theory postulates that increased competition in financial markets should lead to lower cost and enhanced efficiency, recent studies indicate that the relationship is more complex and not inevitably straightforward. As both banking competition and efficiency is of high relevance for economic development, it is crucial to determine the impact of recent structural changes on the competitive environment and banks' performance. In the theoretical part, we consider different methodological issues in measuring competition and efficiency. Within the empirical section, we employ the SFA to estimate efficiency scores for the selected EU credit institutions and derive corresponding measure of competition based on Panzar-Rosse methodology. By further research, we elaborate on the link between competition and efficiency.
