Image-Based Licence Plate Recognition
Homola, Miloš ; Potúček, Igor (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This project is concerned with automatic detection of licence plate based on finding abscissa in entering image. In the preface the main problem of presents´ methods is decribed. Then the definition of some basic methods, which are concerned with mentioned problematic, follows. Their results are discussed and each way of solution is assessed. In conclusion of the chapter, the algorithm for detection of licence plate is designed. It is done on the base of gained information and because of the aim of the work. Next chapter is devoted to the detailed description of my work. It is underlined emphasis on exact and reliable detection of abscissae and following clustering into consistent units. In the end of the work a few experiments for demonstration of efectiveness and reliability of selected method are made. In conclusion, gained results are discussed and the convience of this approach of detection of numberplate is assessed.
Multimedia Browser for Lectures
Kubalík, Jakub ; Potúček, Igor (referee) ; Schwarz, Petr (advisor)
In preamble reader will understand the purpose of this project and why it was initiated. It's large team project, so description of its structure represents main part of this report. A core of the browser contain a lot of techniques, e.g. system of components, special internal communication and other. The main goals of this system are portability and reusability - there is exact specification of syntax rules and used data formats. Non-interchangeable role in project has format XML. Invention of new components was the last intervention in project, with intention to use of the project in future and involve in complex search engine - the engine discuss final part of report.
AdaBoost in Computer Vision
Hradiš, Michal ; Zemčík, Pavel (referee) ; Potúček, Igor (advisor)
In this thesis, we present the local rank differences (LRD). These novel image features are invariant to lighting changes and are suitable for object detection in programmable hardware, such as FPGA. The performance of AdaBoost classifiers with the LRD was tested on a face detection dataset with results which are similar to the Haar-like features which are the state of the art in real-time object detection. These results together with the fact that the LRD are evaluated much faster in FPGA then the Haar-like features are very encouraging and suggest that the LRD may be a solution for future hardware object detectors. We also present a framework for experiments with boosting methods in computer vision. This framework is very flexible and, at the same time, offers high learning performance and a possibility for future parallelization. The framework is available as open source software and we hope that it will simplify work for other researchers.
Simple Gesture Recognition
Verner, Jan ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Potúček, Igor (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes usability of DTW algorithm and it's variants for simple hand gesture detection. It recapitulates actual situation and findings in branch of computer vision and aims on methods for hand gesture recognition and common description of DTW algorithm.
Movement Identification in the Space
Šolony, Marek ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Potúček, Igor (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to suggest optical system capable of movement identification in space and its reconstruction. The motion capture system uses markers attached to parts of human body, and a camera pair to capture the movement. This paper describes step-by-step parts of this system. Epipolar geometry is used to deal with problem of object correspondence between two views.
Digital Photo Processing
Zdražil, Vít ; Sumec, Stanislav (referee) ; Potúček, Igor (advisor)
This document focuses on processing of RAW image data from digital cameras. In first section is described principle of image capturing by digital camera, common way of image processing in the device and what the RAW format is, its pros and cons. In the next section is described existing demosaicing methods, methods for additional processing of RAW image data and there is analyzed specific RAW format, Canon's CR2, including structure and guide for its conversion. Next sections contains proposal of the new improved demosaicing method and method for suppressing digital noise. On this basis a library for basic CR2 files processing was implemented. There is comparison of methods for processing RAW image data with this library in the next section. In the conclusion there is summary of finished work and there is also mentioned outline of future work.
