Dulovec, Adam ; Zamrazilová, Eva (advisor) ; Šimíček, Petr (referee)
The thesis is focused on the changes in the terms of trade in Czech international trade in the term of from 2005 to 2015, as the period after the Czech Republic joined the European Union. The terms of trade are an important indicator of the benefits and loses of international trade. The main aim is to analyze the changes of terms of trade, the causes of their changes, and the impact on the real economy. The direction of the overall terms of trade index was highly unsettled, and did not actually generated additional gains in the economy not over the reporting period. The overall terms of trades were most influenced by the price development of two groups of the Standard International Trade Classification, Crude materials and lubricants, and machinery and transport equipment. The prices of Crude materials and lubricants are determined mainly by changes in the oil prices. These were very volatile in the reporting period, the especially the collapse of the prices in both 2009 and 2014-2015, had a significant impact on the import prices of the Czech economy. The thesis also analyzes the impact of exchange rate on the international trade prices, in the period since November 2013, i.e. after the Czech National Bank has committed to maintain the rate of Czech koruna against the Euro above the level of 27 CZK/EUR, which helped to protect the economy from deflations and enhance the economic growth. The effect of the weak crown, that favored the Czech exporters, however a faded over time.

Analysis of immigration policy in Switzerland
Kubák, Adam ; Ševčíková, Michaela (advisor) ; Šimíček, Petr (referee)
Bachelor thesis dealing with immigration policies in Switzerland. The aim is to analyse the evolution of migration in Switzerland so that we can better understand current events, especially the important referendum from February 9, 2014. This referendum approved the renewal of restrictions against foreigners in Switzerland. This paper answers the question of how the structure of foreigners evolved and how the increase in migration affected unemployment of the domestic population. It was found that the results of this referendum are quite significant for the relationship between Switzerland and the EU; it could result in the termination of some bilateral agreements. Also, it was found that the immigrants do not increase the unemployment rate of Swiss citizens. During an economic crisis, the unemployment rate of immigrants will rise first. As for the composition of the foreign population, 1990 was an important year because the three circle model was introduced. This model supported the influx of the skilled workforce. Thesis contributes to provide a comprehensive picture of migration in Switzerland combined with an analysis of the potential impacts of the referendum on restrictions of foreigners into the country.
The role of the United States dollar as world’s reserve currency since the Bretton Woods monetary system to the present
Schödel, Michael ; Šimíček, Petr (advisor) ; Štekláč, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the role of the United States dollar since The Bretton Woods monetary system to the present. During the Bretton Woods monetary system US dollar gained the dominant position. It was taken from British pound and is maintained till now. Neither crash of this system in the seventies of the 20th century nor establishment of the common European currency -- Euro, did not end the privileged position of US dollar. In my thesis I deal with advantages and disadvantages of this privileged position for USA and for other countries. Further I analyze the position of the US dollar and USA within The International Monetary Fund and I also compare selected indicators of relevant global currencies. Then I focus on the present biggest currency competitor of the US dollar -- the Euro, and the currency with the greatest potential for the future -- the Chinese yuan.
