Nutrition and cerebral neurodegenerative diseases

This bachelor‘s thesis is literary research and its topic is focused on the effect of nutrition on the development of neurodegenerative diseases. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part deals with the structure and physiology of the human brain. In the second part are described all essential nutrients which the brain needs to maintain its functions. The third part focuses on neurodegenerative diseases and their epidemiology and pathophysiology. In this part are also examined nutrients which could be possibly useful in the prevention or which could be involved in the pathophysiology of the disease. Explored diseases include dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and unipolar depression.The aim of this thesis was to find accessible literature focused on this topic and make a discussion.

Monitoring of 3-MPCD content in barley, malt and beer

The master’s thesis focuses on a process contaminant 3-MCPD (3-chloropropane-1,2-diol), which is formed during food processing. The first part of the thesis summarizes scientific knowledge about its chemical and physical properties, toxicity, occurrence in food and methods of analysis. In the second part is monitored the content of 3-MCPD in barley, in standard and special types of malts and beer. Samples were derivatized with phenylboronic acid (PBA) and 3-MCPD derivatives were analyzed by gas chromatography with a mass detector. Deuterated 3-MCPD was used as an internal standard. The limit of quantification was 1 gkg-1 for barley and malt samples and 10 gkg-1 in case of beer. The barley samples contained concentration of 3-MCPD below LOQ. Analýza stavu a pohybu pracovníků GPN s.r.o.

Pracovní síla je rozhodujícím výrobním faktorem a úroveň jejího řízení rozhoduje o tom, do jaké míry bude podnik prosperovat. Při analýzách stavu pracovníků se zaměřujeme na čtyři typy struktury: demografickou, ekonomickou, sociální a prostorovou. Pro potřeby moderního personálního řízení je třeba analyzovat též formy pohybu pracovníků, a to pohyb pracovníků do organizace, uvnitř organizace a z organizace. Zdrojem potřebných informací jsou především data tradiční personální evidence.
