Stupková, Eva ; Babica, Jan (advisor) ; Dohnal, František (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy Candidate: Mgr. Eva Stupková Supervisor: PharmDr. Jan Babica, Ph.D. Title of rigorosum thesis: Products of Black Eagle Pharmacy at Malá Strana district of Prague This thesis is focused on products of Black Eagle Pharmacy in years 1857-1930. Throughout these years subsequently Benjamin, Karel and Jiří Fragner were the head pharmacists. The pharmacy offered many products in various forms (the oldest ones include Prague Universal Household Ointment or Dr. Rosa's Balsam). At the beginning of the 20th century the range of goods was even wider. The pharmacy produced medi- cinal products (such as Buccavacedrol, Galegol, etc.) as well as dairy products, sweets and other goodies. In the 20's the variety of products increased to such a degree that the production had to be moved to a B. Fragner factory in Dolní Měcholupy. Some of the medicinal products were still made by the end of 20th century (Jopton, Guanar, Hysteps, etc.). In some instances the name has changed but the contents remained close to the original up to this day (Thymomel). Core of this thesis is a chronologically ordered list of products. Each product has its own brief characteristic, contents, indication and dosage information. For the sake of...
Czechoslovak and Czech Pharmacy - Expressions, Impacts and Consequences of the Genocide of Jews and Other Forms of Racial Persecution
Arndt, Tomáš ; Dohnal, František (advisor) ; Kovář, Martin (referee) ; Král, Karel (referee)
1. Introduction In this PhD thesis, I set out to map the fate of Jewish pharmacists who worked mainly in pharmacy (or owned it) during the interwar Czechoslovak Republic in the period 1939 to 1945. I paid attention to the Jews working in industry, science and education in pharmacy in this time period. This theme has not yet been processed (now available one study and partial articles on Jews in pharmacy, but this study is concerned with an older time period). My motivation was to repay a debt to my colleagues, who mostly perished in the Shoah. In the Czech lands lived in 1931 117551 Jews, in Bohemia 76 301 Jews, in Moravia and Silesia 41 250 Jews. In Bohemia lived more than 50 % of Jews in Prague, on the contrary in Moravia and Silesia only more than 25 % of Jews lived in Brno (more of them lived in the country and let downs). Pharmaceutical higher education in Austria was officially launched in 1804, one year in medical school. In the winter semester of 1834/1835 was extended for two years. In 1864, the study finally moved to the faculty of philosophy, after 1919 (now only in Czechoslovakia), the Faculty of Science. Before the division of the university in Prague in 1882, was the first pharmacy student Josef Jeiteles, who graduated in 1852.Doctoral degree in chemistry according to the then rules...

It also describes business ethics and ethical tools and methods constituting ethics programme of the company. In the practical part it analyzes ethics programme of the farmaceutical companies in the Czech Republic, their using of the ethical tools and methods including their implementation into the daily practice. It uses questionnaires to obtain the data. Created questionnaire is focused on the subjective perception of ethics, the knowledge of the business ethics and the detailed ethics programme in the company. This survey serves as pilot study and it can be used for other researches. The results indicate insufficient complexity of ethics programme of pharmaceutical companies and deficiences especially in the ethical organizational structure to support ethics, in the monitoring and reporting and in the stakeholder analysis.
