Akutní a chronické působení neonikotinoidových látek na vodní organismy
Neonicotinoids, synthetic substances derived from the natural alkaloid nicotine, are one of the newest class of pesticides. Neonicotinoids are selective for invertebrate nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) and are widely used to treat crops around the word. The aim of this study was to evaluate acute and chronic toxicity of neonicotinoid substance acetamiprid and neonicotinoid product Mospilan 20 SP, which contains 20 % of acetamiprid, to aquatic organisms. Chronic effects to the biochemical profile of haemolymph, oxidative stress biomarker and antioxidant biomarkers have been evaluated too. Marbled crayfish (Procambarus virginalis) was used as a model organism to provide the toxicity. The acute toxicity (96hLC50) of the pure neonicotinoid substance acetamiprid to marbled crayfish is 0.8 mg.l-1, of Mospilan it is 2.71 mg.l-1. The theoretical acute toxicity of Mospilan is 4.0 mg.l-1. It was calculated based on the acute toxicity of pure acetamiprid as the active substance of Mospilan. Additives in the preparation probably contributes its toxicity more than the active substance itself. Acetamiprid and Mospilan impact on changes in the levels of biomarkers of the biochemical profile of haemolymph, biomarker of oxidative stress and antioxidant biomarkers. Changes in the levels of biomarkers are already manifested at concentrations corresponding to 0,1 % and 1 % of 96hLC50. These changes include increases in GLU, AST, ALT and LDH levels, decreases in CAT and GST activity and changes in LPO level.
Toxicity of fine and ultrafine particles from combustion processes

The bachelor thesis deals with the toxicity of fine and ultrafine particles from biomass combustion. The theoretical part is focused on the current state of this issue from the origin, physicochemical properties, mechanism of toxicity of particles, to their impact on the environment and human health. The following is an overview of tests for determining the toxicity of fine and ultrafine particles. The experimental part is devoted to the actual sampling of biomass combustion, their characterization, cultivation of the tested organism and toxicity tests. The results of acute toxicity tests are expressed in terms of percentage mortality values and then the toxicity is evaluated.
Štandardizácia chovu Daphnia magna pre testy toxicity

The diploma thesis is primarily focused on the standardization of Daphnia magna breeding in laboratory conditions of the Department of Zoology, Fisheries, Hydrobiology and Beekeeping at the Faculty of Agronomy of the Mendel University in Brno. The main aim of the work is to simplify the preparation of medium for breeding Daphnia magna due to time saving. During testing, we were interested in births and mortality of individuals observed during 14-day tests in two media. We focus on chemical and physical properties of the media, namely the pH, temperature and intensity of the light.
Toxicity of nitroderivatives of toluene and products of their transformations

This work is focused on verification of p-Nitrotoluenu toxicity and compounds resulting from the aerobic transformation, and methyl group oxidation and reduction of nitro. Some of these products are not commercially available and had to be made soon. Toxicity of the substances was determined by toxicity tests. Were tested root growth inhibition Sinapis alba, which resulted in an inhibitory concentration IC50; test inhibition duckweed Lemna minor , which was also the determination of IC50 inhibitory concentration, and acute toxicity test Artemia salina, which was observed in mortality and immobility organisms and the test result was an efficient concentration EC50 value. Results of tests are compared in the conclusion of the work and is made evaluation of the toxicity of individual substances.
Toxicity Assessment of Firewaters

The issue of toxic extinguishing water is currently getting more to the fore. When a fire arises a wide range of hazardous substances that may negatively affect the quality of some components of the environment. A significant problem can be then extinguishing water runoff into sewers or some components of the environment. The objective is to assess the ecotoxicological properties of extinguishing water, determine the toxicity of the extinguishing water by experiments and thus contribute to the deepening of knowledge in so very few solved problems.
Response of animal cells to the extract, obtained from the colony matrix of Pectinatella magnifica
The aim of this thesis was to determine whether colonies freshwater bryozoans Pectinatella magnifica produce biologically active substances. On the basis of knowledge of the course of the growth curves of cell culture mouse fibroblasts were developed models for biological assays to determine the biological potential of substances contained in the extract of lyophilisate colonies of P. magnifica. Tests demonstrated the presence of substances with biological activity. Next part of this work was also survey the occurrence and distribution of the reference type to Vltavotýnsku, including the monitoring of basic parameters of the aquatic environment. It was explored in two years (2012 and 2013) repeated a total of 10 sites on rivers Vltava and Lužnice, the incidence was detected at 5 locations .
Degradation of resistant s-triazine pesticides by photochemical oxidation on a TiO\dindex2 semiconductor
The theoretical part of the Bachelor thesis summarizes fate of s-triazine pesticides in the environment, the effects of atrazine on animal and human health, published results about photocatalytic degradation of atrazine and toxicity assessments of atrazine. In the experimental part, results of atrazine photochemical degradation on titanium dioxide immobilized on glass surface and results of the toxicity assessment of atrazine and its metabolites are presented.
