Reakce sýkory koňadry \kur{(Parus major)} a sýkory modřinky \kur{(Cyanistes caeruleus)} na konspecifické a heterospecifické varovné hlasy v hnízdním kontextu
DAVÍDKOVÁ, Marika
The following work contains an analysis of behavioural responses of Eurasian blue tits (Cyanistes caeruleus) and Great tits (Parus major) to heterospecific and conspecific alarm calls of Eurasian blue tit, Great tit, and alopatric Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) and Varied Tit (Sittiparus varius). Song of Eurasian blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla) was used as a baseline stimulus. I recorded and analyzed the following types of behaviour: the presence in the nearby surrondings of the nestbox, alarm calling, song and other calls.
Effect of alarm call on tits' behavior on feeder
Lipanská, Barbora ; Fuchs, Roman (advisor) ; Petrusková, Tereza (referee)
LIPANSKÁ, B. 2011: Effect of alarm calls on tit's behavior on feeder. MSc Thesis. Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. Alarm calls of the Great tit (Parus major) used in the context of ground-predators or perching-raptors consist of high-frequency tonal syllables and of series of churring syllables with broad-frequency range. The function of some acoustical parametres of these complex calls was tested in playback experiment on feeder. As the most effective appeared to be alarm calling of two birds simultaneously. More important for warning function of the calls were broad-frequency range syllables. The length of series of these syllables had an opposite impact than in some north-American chickadees (genus Poecile). The Blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) responds to Great tit's alarm calls, but its reactions are weaker. This difference can be caused by its lower competition ability against the Great tit. Key words: antipredation behavior, alarm calls, tits, playback experiment
Responses of urban crows to con- and hetero-specific alarm calls in predator and non-predator zoo enclosures.
BÍLÁ, Kateřina
I investigated if urban crows respond to con- and heterospecific alarm signals in predator and non-predator contexts in enclosures in the ZOO of Vienna. Crows responded strongly to the crow and also jackdaw alarms in both types of contexts, but also responded to the singing of great tit (control) in the predator context. This suggests that crows are aware of the danger the wolf and bear represent but are generally very cautious at the exotic Zoo animals.

Analysis of alarm calls of great tit (\kur{Parus major})
BUCHALOVÁ, Martina
An analysis of warning calls of the great tit (Parus major) was conducted from audio recordings. Calls were correlated acording to types of dummies. Functions of individual types of calls were defined.
