The aim of this bachelor thesis is the realization of the application as an experimental software musical instrument on the Android platform. The implementation is partly based on the draft elaborated in semester work. The application is designed for tablets and smartphones. It combines functions of sampler, sequencer and synthesizer and contains built-in effects. With this features, it is possible to create new sounds, sequantions and songs. The applications is programmed by visual programing language Pure Data. The graphic interface is created by the MobMuPlat platform. The thesis is consists of three parts. The first part is a theoretical introduction, where are discussed, the theory of digital audio signal processing, principles and types of sound signal synthesis, effects and electronic instruments. Furthermore, the Pure Data and MobMuPlat platform features. The second part is an updated design of the graphical interface and there are discussed the functions of individual graphic elements. The third part describes implementation of the application by Pure Data
Experimental Software Synthesizer and Sequencer
Fadieiev, Heorhii ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is devoted to an experimental software synthesizer and sequencer. Its main goal is the realization of an experimental electroacoustic musical instrument based on a design created within the semestral thesis. The unique characteristic of this synthesizer is the possibility of assigning to each tone a different waveform from the field of subtractive synthesis, but also amplitude and frequency modulation, as well as the possibility of creating a complicated rhythmic structure. The work is divided into several parts. The first one deals with the collection of theoretical knowledge focused on the topic of sound synthesis, MIDI and software program Max. The second part of the work presents the design of an experimental instrument taking into account the block diagram of the synthesizer, its sequencer and generator. The next part of the work deals with the implementation of the instrument, describes its appearance, GUI, data storage in its memory and analyzes the patch of the synthesizer. The last part describes practical experience and general characteristics of the resulting instrument.
Experimental Hardware Musical Instrument
Chaňo, Petr ; Vrba, Kamil (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The main aim of the bachelor thesis was to design and build a musical instrument that will have a signs of the experimentalism consist of combination synthesizer and sequencer, tuning, unusual kind of controls and its look. At the top of this work is the theoretical introduction to the musical instruments and to the process of generating and modulating sound. There is also written information about parts that the instrument consists of (microcontroller, D/A converter), principles that leads to being able to create this instrument (operational amplifiers, frequency filters, DDS) in the theoretical part. The description of the components is in the practical part followed by the information about the circuits at this instrument and about software solution as well.
Power amplifier for 2 metres radio amateur transmitter
Klapil, Filip ; Vařacha, František (referee) ; Prokeš, Aleš (advisor)
This work deal with development a solution of a power amplifier for 2 metres radio amateur transmitter with a minimum output of 1 kW. Part of the solution is to use a commercial module of power amplifier. In addition, the design of the input attenuator, the switching elements in the signal path, the output filter and the protection circuits including cooling. The bachelor thesis contains a proposal of a system solution with a discussion of required performance and legislative requirements. This is followed by a hardware section, where the work is devoted to the design of the hardware, the theoretical calculation of the components and the simulation. In the last part of the work deals with practical implementation, verification of function and measurement of achieved parameters and their evaluation.
Experimental Software Musical Instrument on Android Platform with Ability to Control Parameters by Text Conversion
Rychtecký, Václav ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The purpose of the thesis is to create a mobile application on the Android platform, characterized by creation of sound using a text captured by a built-in camera of the device in combination with synthesizer, sequencer and sampler. The implementation is partly based on a design prepared within a semestral thesis and is divided into several parts. The first part briefly describes the types of syntheses, the Android operating system, the Pure Data programming language, MIDI and the Android library for controlling Pure Data. The second part deals with the design of the application and the third part describes the implementation and especially the functionality of the application which is created using the programming language Kotlin and IDE Android Studio from JetBrains in combination with the language Pure Data.
Modeling and animation of biological structures
Matulík, Martin ; Bílek, Michal (referee) ; Maxa, Jiří (advisor)
Following work deals with subject matter of digital modelling and animation of biological structures. Software tools for computer generated images (CGI), well proven in common practice, are evaluated, as well as tools for specific activities, available inside chosen software environment. Among vast pool of modelling approaches are discussed tools suitable for creation and representation of selected structures, along with tools essential for their consequent animation. Possible rendering approaches and their parameters in relation to qualities of resulting computer-generated images are discussed as well. Above-mentioned approaches will be consequently utilized for modelling, physical simulation and animation of erythrocyte’s flow throughout blood vessel in following project. Resulting output of that work will be based on series of digital images, suitable for creating video-sequence containing abovementioned animation in end-user digestible form.
Experimental Software Musical Instrument on Android Platform Combining Sampler, Synthesizer, Effects processor and Sequencer
Bezůšek, Marek ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design and realize experimental software musical instrument on Android platform, combining sampler, synthesizer, effects processors and sequencer. The application is designed for smartphones. The application's experimental approach is in granular synthesis applied on recorded sounds with a combination of synthetic sounds produced in wavetable synthesizer and with applied effects.
Electronic MIDI sequencer for a mechanical musical instrument
Mušinka, Martin ; Arm, Jakub (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
Music is an integral part of every human life. As time went on, musical instruments gradually began to digitize. The main task of this thesis will be to create a microcontroller system for operating at least two mechanical musical instruments through MIDI communication.
Seqence circuit for radioamateur transciever
Dvořák, Pavel ; Šnajdr, Václav (referee) ; Lukeš, Zbyněk (advisor)
In this paper we will deal involving short-wave radio station and its control by the sequencer. Mostly it will be a time delay of the PA and the antenna switching relay in the transmitter (TX) to receiver (RX) side. Time delays will be controlled programmatically using ATmega 16 microprocessor, which will form part of the main control sequencer. The delay will set the total time of keying in messages, when we take into account the loss due to delayed first symbol. Keying will be done from several sources, among the main sources will be ordered from keying the radio, telegraph keys, and PC. The transmission signal is used amplitude modulation (SSB) in the CB zone.
Experimental synthesizer suitable for microtonal ambient music
Pavlov, Mykhailo ; Dlouhý, Dan (referee) ; Indrák, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is devoted to an experimental software instrument, the main component of which is a sequencer with the capability of microtonal tuning and scale selection. The main objective of this work is to design and implement such a synthesizer within the Reaktor environment based on knowledge and proposals acquired during the semester project. The work is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The task of the theoretical part is to summarize the theoretical knowledge necessary for the design and subsequent implementation of the instrument. These insights include a brief history, types of synthesis, typical design principles, and principles of interaction with the development environment. The practical part describes the process of designing and implementing individual components of the instrument, its design, and subsequently focuses on the practical use of the synthesizer, its unique features, and further theoretical development.
