Fatigue Properties of Ultra-fine Grain Copper Produced by ECAP Method
Navrátilová, Lucie ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Pantělejev, Libor (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes properties of ultra-fine grain Cu prepared via ECAP procedure. The influence of fatigue loading with positive mean stress on S-N curve (i.e. fatigue life), cyclic plastic behaviour and grain size was investigated. It was found that tensile mean stress leads to shorter lifetime in comparison with fatigue loading with zero mean stress. During main part of the lifetime, significant hardening of UFG Cu was observed. There is no distinct effect on microstructural orientation and stability.
Assessment of surface roughness and its influence on fatigue life
Dziubek, Jan ; Chamrad, Jakub (referee) ; Horníková, Jana (advisor)
This thesis deals with influence of surface roughness on fatigue life. In the thesis, the evaluation of the surface roughness by the profile method according to the standard ČSN EN ISO 4287 is specified. Within the work, the roughness parameters of samples with different surface treatment were determined. Then, SN-curves were drawn for samples with different surface treatments and compared with each other.
Evaluation of mechanical characteristics of metalic materials under cyclic loading
Vlach, Jiří ; Slámečka, Karel (referee) ; Horníková, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on study mechanical characteristics of metalic materials under cyclic loading. In the first section there are summarized current facts about three fatigue stages: fatigue hardening/softening, microcrack nucleation and crack propagation. This part also contains information about fatigue life, fatigue strength and fatigue limit. The main aim of practical part was to evaluate the Wöhler´s curve, also called S-N curve.
Fatigue endurance of extruded Mg alloy AZ91E
Sobola, Petr ; Štěpánek, Roman (referee) ; Pantělejev, Libor (advisor)
This thesis deals with fatigue behaviour of magnesium alloy AZ91E produced by extrusion. In the frame of this work, basic mechanical characteristics and data from performed fatigue tests were obtained. Further metallographic analysis of microstructure and fractographic analysis of broken specimens after fatigue tests were carried out.
Development of loading spectra and fatigue life analysis of small two-seat composite aircraft
Daňko, Matúš ; Juračka, Jaroslav (referee) ; Augustin, Petr (advisor)
Primary goal of this thesis is to present proposed method for fatigue life evaluation applicable to light composite aircraft. The first chapter of this thesis is focused on certification specifications and requirements for fatigue life proof of structure. Significant part of this thesis is dedicated to fatigue life evaluation and guideline how to proceed in evaluation of fatigue data. Thesis also points out on possible methods of statistical fatigue data analysis and critical parts of structure in means of fatigue life. The last part of thesis is focused on design of experimental evaluation of structure including test rig and load sequence. This chapter also provides inside into possible means of introducing artificial defects into the structure.
Types of fatigue tests and methods of data processing
Lamrich, Richard ; Halabuk, Dávid (referee) ; Vosynek, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on fatigue testing and creating of S-N curves. In the first part three main stages of fatigue life are processed in order of making theoretical knowledge needed. Next the thesis is focused on dividing methods for making these tests and machines that are used for these tests and shows under which circumstances they are appropriate to use. Last part is dedicated to methods of creating of S-N curves.
Advanced statistical evaluation of fatigue data obtained during the measurement of concrete mixtures with various water-cement ratio
Seitl, Stanislav ; Benešová, A. ; Blasón, S. ; Miarka, Petr ; Klusák, Jan ; Bílek, V.
The Basquin’s law is usually applied for the evaluation of fatigue properties of civil engineering \nmaterials. For materials like concrete, some researchers recommended applying the Weibull model. In this\ncontribution, Basquin’s law, Castillo-Canteli model and Kohout-Věchet model were applied for the advanced \nstatistical description of S−N curves (Wöhler curve). For the application of the models, the experimental data \nmeasured on reference concrete mixtures used for the development of self-healing concrete at the Faculty of \nCivil Engineering, TU Ostrava. Fitting data of applied models were compared and analyzed
