Problems of Autism Spectrum Disorders from the perspective of pediatricians

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of autism spectrum disorders from the perspective of pediatricians. The aim of this thesis is to identify how general practitioners for children and adolescents in the South Bohemia region carry out screening for early detection of autism spectrum disorders in their practices and how they proceed in case of a positive result. The sub-objective was to find out what general practitioners for children and adolescents see as the biggest problem in the diagnostic process for these children. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The first chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to individual autism spectrum disorders, the second chapter explains the so-called "triad" of problem areas, the third describes screening and diagnostic tools, and the last chapter focuses on the possibilities of care for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. The practical part is conducted through qualitative research and semi-structured interviews were used to collect data from pediatric and adolescent general practitioners. Furthermore, two case studies of children with autism spectrum disorder are presented in this part. Semi-structured interviews with parents and educational staff and a desk study were also used to collect data for the case studies. The data obtained show that general practitioners for children and adolescents perform screening for early detection of autism spectrum disorders during regular preventive examinations at 18 months of the child and repeat the screening again after six months in case of a positive result. Child and adolescent practitioners see the biggest problem in the diagnostic process as the lack of specialists to follow up their work.

This bachelor's thesis deals with primary care from the perspective of a pediatric nurse working in a general practitioner for children and adolescents. Our aim was to find out the specifics of the work of primary care nurses and their collaboration with parents of children during preventive checkups.The theoretical part focuses on the definition of the term primary care in pediatrics, regular preventive checkups, the job description of the primary care nurse, and educational and communication skills. The diploma thesis focuses on the determination of the market value of private medical practice for children and adolescents. The thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical and the practical. The theoretical one is devoted to literature review of business valuation issues and specifics of private medical practice management. A suitable method for its valuation is chosen. In the practical part, according to the proposed methodological procedure, the practice of a general practitioner for children and adolescents for the purpose of its sale and purchase is evaluated. The resulting valuation is carried out using the income and asset-based approach.

The thesis focuses on valuation of professional practices. It is divided into two main parts. The first part presents the theoretical aspects of business valuation with emphasis on the specifics of valuation of professional practices. The valuation of a pediatric practice is carried out in the second part. It is based on an analysis of the business environment, followed by the financial analysis of the practice. The value of the practice is estimated using the selected valuation method. The limitations, recommendations and suggestions related to valuation of medical practices are also presented
