Jaroslav Lev of Rožmitál, diplomat and politician of the late Middle Ages

The thesis deals with the personality of Jaroslav Lev of Rožmitál. On the basis of available sources, it tries to show his life and political activities in the Czech kingdom. He was an important member of the aristocracy in the 15th century, who became famous for his diplomatic tour of Western Europe. He owed his ascension not only to his political skills, but also to the fact that his sister Joanna was the wife of Czech King George of Podiebrad. It was probably thanks to his diplomatic mission that he was more visible as an important politician of his time. He proved his abilities first as the Supreme Judge and then as the supreme Master of the Court. He did not only act in Prague but also in western Bohemia, where he was the Executioner of Pracheň region.
