The first part focuses on the life of Josef Vaclav Sladek and his personality. The following analysis of his work, emphasizing the theme of the book appearing in his work. Library of Karel Teige - the source for studying literary history

(in English) The paper analyzes the personal library of Karel Teige, the leading theorist of the Czech avant-garde, with respect to its cultural and political context. It presents the available information on its history and its role for studying literary history, surrealism in particular. The literary estate of Karel Teige is currently located in the National Museum Library (3828 items), Museum of Czech Literature (PNP; approx. 290 items), and partly in private ownership. Its composition reflects Teige's lifelong active participation in Czech surrealism and incorporates valuable samizdat books from the wartime period, when surrealist activities were illegal.
Library of voyager Joe Hloucha

This bachelor's thesis deals with the personal library of the Czech voyager, collector and writer Joe Hloucha. The aim is to find out information about the library and describe localized fragment of Hloucha's library. The introduction presents the key terms of the thesis. Second part discusses biography of Joe Hloucha including his collecting activities. The third chapter deals with Hloucha's writing career. The fourth chapter describes the process of searching for books from his personal library. The fifth chapter is devoted to description of founded copies from his personal library. In conclusion the thesis summarizes obtained findings and sumps up the current state of the books from Hloucha's property.
Adolf Hoffmeister: the reader and the creator

The aim of this thesis is to present the life and work of Adolf Hoffmeister and show its relationship to the book from the perspective of the reader and author. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part relating to significant events in the life of Adolf Hoffmeister is followed by an overview of his creative and literary works related to the book and book culture. The substantial point of this work is to discribe and analyze Hoffmeister's library and his reading interests.

(in English): The diploma thesis opens a new perspective on Jan Werich - famous Czech writer, playwright and actor. Its goal is to describe part played by books in formation of character, life and work of this eminent personality of Czech culture and social impact of his work. An important part of this work is the reconstruction of contents of Jan Werich's personal library. The thesis is based on analysis of Werich's literary work, analysis of collection of personal documents in Literary archive of The Museum of Czech Literature, study of documents in the archive of Theatre ABC and Prague City Archives. It is also based on testimonies of some close Werich's friends and on reader's survey "The books of Jan Werich". First chapter is concerned with Jan Werich's personal library. It describes the search for destiny of this library, on its probable current situation and on various sources for the reconstruction of its contents. It also contains information on Werich's work with a book, mostly on lending and borrowing books and on property marking of documents. The main part of first chapter is the reconstruction of contents of Jan Werich's personal library; its bibliogprahy forms an appendix to this work.
