Banďouch, Pavel ; Hajdinová, Eva (advisor) ; Suchánek, Drahomír (referee)
The presented Master theses deals with the issues related to the existence and activities of the Non-Catholics and the Non-Christians in the 16th Century Italy. Using the comparative approach, it studies the spreading of the ideas of Reformation and their reception by the local population. It deals also with the social structure of the sympathizers of the Non-Catholical confessions. In the case of Non-Christians it deals mainly with the change of the attitude towards them in the selected time period. For the comparation was chosen the majority of important Italian States of the selected period - Tuscany, The Republic of Genoa, The Kingdom of Naples and the Kingdom of Sicily, The Duchy of Milan, The Duchy of Savoy, The Republic of Venice and the Papal state. On the bases of the chosen comparative approach and the study of relevant historical sources and specialised literature, this Master theses provides both the analysis of the common features of the activity of the Non-Catholics and the Non-Christians in the studied area, as the regional differences. Non-Catholics in the Domain of Trebic in the 17th and the 18th Centuries
Honč, Petr ; Čechura, Jaroslav (advisor)
This research is primarily focused on the non-Catholic population in the domain of Trebic in the 17th and 18th centuries. A brief summary of the previous religious development in the above mentioned domain during the Reformation period and Thirty Years' War enables us to prove, that falling apart of the confessional identity had already been registered before the beginning of systematic recatholisation. Until then, the domain of Trebic had been a favourite refuge for the refugees from Bohemia. The description of the process of recatholisation in the town of Třebíč and villages of its domain is one of the key topics of this research. Another focus of this work is to demonstrate the contribution of the parish network in the frame of the Třebic's deanship, which was a key success factor for the recatholisation process. A second main topic, and a core issue of this work, is the situation in the domain after the October 1781, when Joseph II. put into effect the Edict of Tolerance. The emphasis is put on the adhesion of non-Catholics to one of the Protestant confessions tolerated by the State and on the challenges emerged as a follow-up. A rupture between Protestants regarding the choice between the Augsburg and Helvetic Confession almost ended hopes for their own congregation.
Transformations of the Church at the Time of the Incoming Enlightenment
Žezlo, Martin ; Veverková, Kamila (advisor) ; Lášek, Jan Blahoslav (referee)
Master's thesis Transformations of the Church at the Time of the Incoming Enlightenment discusses the ongoing contradictions between faiths. Catholic confession, which initially imposed on all subjects and nobilities in the Roman Empire has been slowly losing its previous power. Its power has been decreasing in inverse proportion by the time Enlightenment spreaded to the Czech lands throughout Germany and Italy. It changed everything, what was perceived in some way, and in turn created a lot of new knowledge. Enlightenment appeared under the rule of Emperor Charles VI., although not as much as of his daughter Marie Terezie and of his grandson Emperor Joseph II. at all. Joseph II. transformed his entire empire based on his Enlightenment ideas. By the time of reforms the "liberation" of non-Catholics and the abolition of serfdom is gradually coming. The Church at this time was very fragmented and was creating new spiritual insights on the Catholic Church and Christianity itself.

The Enlightenment and its Impact on the National and Spiritual Formation of People in the Czech Lands during 18th and 19th Century
Karasová, Ivana ; Veverková, Kamila (advisor) ; Lášek, Jan Blahoslav (referee)
This master thesis deals with the spiritual progress pointing to a national self-awareness in the Enlightenment era from the beginning until 1848. The Enlightenment is an European phenomenon, which is characterized by a change of thinking, and self-awareness. This idea of tolerance and human emancipation contributed to the reforms of fundamental social, political and ecclesiastical changes. These changes result not only from a philosophical influences, but also from royal reforms during the reign of Maria Theresa and Joseph II in particular. The Teresian enlightened Catholicism and Josephinian reformism fully started the journey from the Enlightenment to liberalism. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
