Binary eutectoid alloys
Skopalová, Simona ; Pouchlý, Václav (referee) ; Jan, Vít (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the search for suitable binary systems consisting of technically important metals in which eutectoid decay occurs. The work aims to describe and document this disintegration of the emerging structure. The introductory theoretical part describes a general apparatus for describing the phase composition of binary systems which is followed by a description of selected technically important metals which include iron, titanium and manganese. The experimental part dealing with the production of alloys, preparation of metallographic samples and description of the resulting microstructure follows.
NIM and Mathametics
NĚMCOVÁ, Věra
The diploma thesis deals with the combinatorial game NIM. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part submits the Sprague-Grundy theorem (which is a general introduction to game theory) and the analysis of several substraction games. Then follows the NIM: the rules of the game, various analysis options, features, history, variants and mainly finding the winning strategy. It´s necessary to know binary system and NIM-sum. The practical part contains an analysis of several games played with students and wants to find out if they are able to intuitively discover some parts of the winning strategy.

Representation of special classes of combinatorial objects
Scholleová, Barbora ; Nešetřil, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Loebl, Martin (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to bring together two areas of the graph theory. We first give a brief exposition of graph homomorphisms and related notions that directs to the definition of the replacement operation by using an appropriate replacement graph. The tree-depth is investigated as one of considerable chara- cteristics of each graph. Finally we focus on category representations in the category Graph of all finite graphs and Graphk of all finite graphs with tree-depth at most k.
Activities for next expansion with mathematically gifted pupil at the primary school
Reslová, Eliška ; Kloboučková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Macháčková, Jana (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on issues connected to possibilities of developement of mathematically talented pupils from the first grade. In the theoretical part there basic terms related to the education of talented pupils in th Czech Republic are summarised and explained. In next part motivation, processes of motivatiom and the most frequent usage of Math competitions as a part of the education in the Czech Republic are presented. The base of the practical part of this diploma thesis is a set of non standardized tasks and problems, whose target is to activate the cognitive developement of talented pupils. Part of the practical part of this thesis is a protocol about an experiment and analysis of the particular tasks and activities for talented pupils. The main aim of this thesis is to emphasise the importance of the developement of talented pupils and compile/form enriching tasks for talented pupils during Maths lessons. KEYWORDS Talent, talent models, motivation, cognitive process, non standardized tasks, aktivity.
The environment Biland in teaching mathematics in primary school
Vybíralová, Tereza ; Slezáková, Jana (advisor) ; Jirotková, Darina (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of a didactic mathematical environment Biland. The theoretical part is concerned with the definition of two opposite educational styles, transmissive and constructivist, and their comparison. Within the constructivist educational style, it is also focused on The Hejný's method, and it defines the two basic pillars of this conception. The first pillar is the personality of the teacher and the other one is the mathematical content, which is provided by different mathematical environments. This diploma thesis introduces the environment Biland, describes on which mathematical basis it stands on and shows why should be Biland included into the teaching of mathematics. It answers the question of importancy of teaching also non-base ten systems and therefore it describes the history of place-value system. It also studies the tasks in contemporary textbooks of mathematics for primary schools by Hejný et al. published by publishing house FRAUS. The practical part includes the preparation and implementation of experiments in which the new environment Biland was introduced to the pupils. The experiments were recorded into protocols, followed by analysis. Another aim of the practical part was creation of worksheets for the pupils which were handed out after the...

Place-value system and interactive teaching at secondary school
DVOROŽŇÁK, Marek
This diploma thesis deals with teaching of place-value systems in secondary school with use of created computer program. The theoretical part of the thesis deals, apart from other things, with some good reasons to teach non-base ten systems. The main part of the thesis deals with created computer program that contains teaching of binary number system and with created computer model of a counting device. These programs are also accessible from the internet. Results of experimental teaching that took place in two secondary schools are included in the thesis as well.
