Experimental Verification of Printed Concrete Shell Structures
Tomečka, Petr ; Stráský, Jiří
The article presents the printing technology and material used in the research. Focusing specifically on shell structures. The following section details, the application concept for bridge piers and the derived specimens for experimental verification. The testing procedure and a description of the measuring equipment is presented. Finally, an introduction to computational analyses is provided.
Concrete with Bio-Based Aggregates
Vrzáň, Jakub
This article focuses primarily on concrete made from plant-based aggregates (rapeseed and hemp straw) coupled with a binder (lime-based and water glass). These materials may represent a way to ensure the sustainable production of building structures with high insulation properties. It is necessary to have thorough knowledge of the behaviour of such materials in order to improve their applicability in diverse construction projects around the world. The main finding of this paper is that a composite material composed of locally available secondary agricultural raw material and lime binder exhibits excellent thermal properties.
Effect of Cement on the K-Value of Power Plant Fly Ash
Šperling, Petr ; Hela, Rudolf
This paper deals with the determination of the k-value and activity index for power plant fly ash with CEM I 42.5 R cement and CEM II/A-M (S-V) 42.5 R cement. The objective is to determine the activity index of this active admixture for different cement replacements to determine the k-value based on the relationship between water coefficient and compressive strength for fly ash and to assess the effect of different cement types on the kvalue. Based on the results obtained, the effect of blended cement, which has a higher amount of active admixture than Portland cement, on the compressive strength, the activity index and the k-value of fly ash was assessed.
Advanced Analytical Model of Strength in Quasibrittle Media
Kučera, Michal ; Vořechovský, Miroslav
The purpose of this work is to extend the use of a recently developed analytical model of concrete fracture behavior to general load cases. The model reflects the stress redistribution processes in the fracture process zone by averaging the local material strength. Analytically, the probability that the spatial stress field attains the averaged strength field is obtained, resulting in a full probability density function of random structural strength, which naturally captures all sources of structural size effect. The expanded version of this model can be used in various general load cases.
Use of Secondary Aggregates for Concrete Production
Chystiakov, Artem ; Kroviakov, Sergii ; Ihnatenko, Andrii ; Medved, Igor
The properties of concretes based on different types of secondary coarse and fine aggregates were studied experimentally with a view to their potential for the construction of pavement layers. Namely, the prototypes were tested for compressive and flexural strengths, water absorption, and frost resistance. The results show that these concretes are characterized by fairly high tensile strength and frost resistance, which is an important requirement for road pavements. Thus, the use of secondary coarse and fine aggregates in pavement concretes could be a plausible solution from the viewpoint of both construction and environmental sustainability.
Static analysis of reinforced concrete walls with additionally made openings
Šimek, Ondřej ; Borzovič, Viktor (referee) ; Vítek, Jan (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
The thesis deals with the implementation of additional openings in reinforced concrete walls from the point of view of structural analysis. Two types of walls are analysed: panel walls and infill shear walls. In the introductory part, the current state of knowledge in the methods of analysis of this issue is discussed and their advantages or shortcomings are pointed out. Several types of wall specimens with pre- or post-made openings with different types of reinforcement representing the state after an additional opening is made are proposed and their behaviour is experimentally and subsequently numerically verified. On the basis of the data obtained, methods are proposed for the structural analysis and the design of reinforced concrete walls with additional openings. For panel walls with openings, the analysis method using wall models is extended and the method of static assessment is specified. The method of analysis for infill shear walls with an opening using equivalent diagonal bar strut has been extended to take account for the reinforcement and its load state. The proposed structural analysis methods were applied to a real prefabricated house with an additional opening and to a hypothetical frame structure with a proposed structural intervention in its bracing system.
Apartment Building - Design of Selected Reinforced Concrete Elements
Jakoubek, Lukáš ; Horák, David (referee) ; Švaříčková, Ivana (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the continuous static solutions of monolithic reinforced concrete ceiling construction and the three-flight staircase in the five-storied apartment house. The entire structure is designed from concrete. To determine the effects of internal forces used computational design of Scia Engineer 2013.1. Assessment of the elements is performed by the first limit state. Work includes developing a static calculation, design reinforcement drawings, shapes and reinforcement drawings solved elements.
Suspension footbridge across the Elbe River
Gregor, Petr ; Kocourek, Petr (referee) ; Stráský, Jiří (advisor)
The objective of this master´s thesis is a design of suspension footbridge across the Elbe river. The footbridge is suspended construction by three spans. The brick deck is supported on the outer edges and it is kept in a parabolic arc. The suspension cables are kept at two inclined levels. The model is implemented in the program ANSYS. The solution is non-linear. The designe is according to the europien standart.
Statical solution of reinforced concrete structure
Stehno, Pavel ; Ivana,, Švaříčková (referee) ; Zlámal, Martin (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis I study designing and appraising monolithic ceiling slab, which is statically solved by two - way slab. In order to dimension this load - bearing structure to effect of bending moments will be applied computer simulation. The solution is checked by simple method of total moments. Very important part of this thesis is structural analysis affecting pushing through the ceiling slab. Pushing will be soluted by manual analysis, results will be compared with output values of computer analysis. Critical state sagging of the ceiling slab is solved very marginally. The main purpose of this thesis consists of creation technical report, structural analysis and design documentation of soluted structure.
Reinforced concrete structure
Hubačková, Pavlína ; Jeneš, Rostislav (referee) ; Šulák, Pavel (advisor)
My bachelor thesis focuses on the design of selected parts of monolithic reinforced concrete structures of a department store. Elements for design are locally supported ceiling sab, column and foundation pad. The calculation of internal forces was performed in a computational program SCIA Engineer 17. The Results of the software are compared with the result of the simplified manual method. The settlement of foundation was performer in program GEO 5. A graphical documentation of selected elements is also a part of the thesis. The construction is designed and assessed according to ČSN EN 1992 - 1 - 1.
