Kraví hora - BUT Family silver

The focus of this thesis is an architectural study of the Kraví Hora area in Brno in a 1:200 scale. The area is significant in both size and location, but has been underutilized up to this point. The objective of the thesis is to discover a solution acceptable for the city of Brno as well as BUT, whose intentions with the area differ significantly. The area has been designed to have recreational spaces of greenery. Traffic has been either largely reduced, or eliminated entirely. A wide variety of sports, eductational programs and recreational activities has been made available for visitors of all ages. The objective of the planned area is to inspire and positively motivate the study of technology and interest in science via its functional design. Exhibition areas, lecture halls, rentable workspaces for graduates, a recruitment center and general storage spaces has been designed in the area. The design of the buildings is based around the incline of the plot – they have a maximum of one extra floor over the level of the surrounding terrain. The green roof and the vertical outer layer of laminated timber is designed to provide a natural character to the structures. The predominantly horizontal area is granted an element of verticality in the form of a lookout tower.

This thesis deals with the comparison of two construction technologies of timbered buildings in terms of financial and time requirements. It is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part, the history of timbered buildings in our country, the legislative requirements for buildings as of 2022, the division of construction systems and production processes of timbered buildings, traditional and modern technologies, the procedure for designing not only timbered buildings, the financial policy of today and the technical description of the building are described. In the practical part of this work, two implementation documents are prepared according to Decree 499/2006, Annex 13. One implementation documentation is prepared for the technology with dried BSH timbers and the other one for the technology with undried imber. Both documents include a budget with a bill of quantities. These documents, including budgets, serve as a basis for the comparison of the above mentioned technologies in terms of financial and time requirements for construction. The basis for the comparison and implementation documentation is a real order of OK Pyrus, s.r.o. with individual requirements of the investor. On the basis of these input documents, it is evaluated which of the following options is more time and financially advantageous.

The thesis is focused on the elaboration of project documentation for the new construction of the fire station type JPO I – C1 in wooden construction system. Its situated on the site of original fire station, which i stoo old for serving and does not meet current requirements. The station is located on plot no. 815 in Hylváty. The building is a detached building with a garage space and office space with three storey. The main suporting system is solved by a wooden skeleton and space of the stairway is made from concrete core. Every walls and storeys are made by CLT panell. The roof is formed as a single-layer flat with a gradient made by mineral layer. The building konsists of two parts. One parts consists of the administrative section, there are facilities for serving firefighters, its on 1st and 2nd floor. The last floor in this section is designed for daily fire servants. The floor of admistrating part is situated higher than the second part of building. The second part of building is the garage and technical section. Project dotumentation is carried out in accordance with laws, decrees, regulation and technical standards that are valid in the Czech Republic.

Bachelor thesis is focused on massive timbered building. The aim of thesis was to worked out a design of building with timbered construction system. Object is for four-member family and for year-round habitation. The investor and land are not known. This project is only preliminary design. In this thesis is described a construction system with others construction compositions. For perimeter structures, respectively for single elements of it, was done assessment in terms of thermal-technical parameters. With one chosen contruction was created dispozition solution for family house. The thesis is supplyed with drawing documentation within the scope of permits, basic description of building and construction details.
