Zelinková, Klára ; Kunštát, Miroslav (advisor) ; Zelená, Alena (referee)
The bachelor thesis titled Johannes Mathesius Gesellschaft and its activities in the 1990s focuses on the Sudeten German Protestants during the 20th century. The thesis first describes the establishment of the German Evangelical Church in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. This is placed in the context of the rise of Protestantism in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia and the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic. In more detail, the Sudeten German crisis and the related problems of the Germans in the Czechoslovak territory are outlined, which were reflected in the events within the Church. Subsequently, the work introduces the Sudeten German evangelical association Johannes Mathesius Gesellschaft, which was founded in 1961. Its activity was scientific work connected with the preservation of the legacy of the German Protestant Reformation found in Bohemia and with the preservation of the legacy of the German Protestant Church in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. An important part of this work is the inclusion of the association in the Czech-German dialogue after the Velvet Revolution. In this sense, the context and important events connected with the establishment of the new cross- border Czech-German cooperation and the reaction of the association to all the events that took place are presented.
