Bachelor thesis explain the motivation behind extension of network protocol HTTP to the secured network protocol HTTPS. Thesis describe and compare protocols, which can be used for such extension. These protocols are compared and their known vulnerabilities are listed and commented. Results are used for recommendations to WWW servers administrators and to regular web browsers users. Thesis also include practical example of WWW server configuration with enabled secured network protocol HTTPS.

Bachelor thesis follows up the possibilities of using NAS in small companies and households. Theoretical part is devoted to the definition of basic concepts, introduction of device, analysis of basic and extending functions. It focuses primaly on analysis of suported comunication protocols, commonly used file systems and principles of function disk arrays. One section is dedicated to data backup and NAS server protection, marginally to wireless security, which is closely related with the theme, especially in terms of data misuse. In practical part, the basic services and setings are described at the first. In further steps, the applications and functions are introduced for their subsequent use as common user as small company.

The thesis explores the subject of data storage options, focusing on Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution and its potential target users. The theoretical part of the thesis reviews the overall data storage solutions used in the past, compared to the current ones. The further description of NAS is provided, highlighting its specifications and possibilities for use. In addition, the analysis of different methods of data storing on a hard disc drive is conducted and resulting data reliability is examined and assessed. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to recommend NAS for suitable user groups based on their needs and habits. To gather relevant data and identify those characteristics, the research method of survey based data collection is being used. As a result, the particular potential user group for NAS, currently unaware of its benefits and uses, is identified. This group is characterized by its online content use and consumption patterns in areas of video and music content consumption, photo sharing, file backing-up habits, cloud usage, etc. Furthermore, the thesis expands on the potential benefits for those users and provides practical suggestions for use in regard to their identified needs. In the last part of the thesis, collected survey data are being compared to the related national survey data provided by the Czech Statistical Office. The concluding analysis reveals a trend of decreasing interest between year 2015 and 2016 for using cloud data storage solutions in general, mainly in terms of storing and sharing of photos, movies and music. Finally, the limitations of survey data collection are being discussed, focusing on particular internal and external factors which could have influenced the survey results.

This thesis is focused on the topic of digital certificates for secure communication. First of all, methods of authentication and cryptography are analyzed as a starting point. Furthermore, the thesis describes communication protocols for secure connection HTTPS and SSL/TLS, the importance of certification authorities and their characteristics. It devotes the biggest part of attention to digital certificates as such.
Practical part introduces available certification authorities, including practical creation of the new certification authority and certificate. This untrusted certificate has become the key element of the questionnaire survey, which aim is to analyze knowledge level of users about secure connection through trusted certificates. After the analysis, interpretation of obtained data and verification of selected hypothesis, recommendations for domain owners, who are planning to use HTTPS, were proposed.

Computer network at home

This thesis is about the domestic computer networks and the requirements awarding in this surroundings. Gradually, describes the history of the computer network of networks, the various topologies to the structure itself. The network is carried on copper cables category 5e, and using wireless technologies. There is also a description of the reference model ISO/OSI and TCP/IP as well as with its architecture. There are explained both active and passive network elements as those who are employed, and more. The practical part is an analysis to choose the hardware device. After processing, analysis equipment is designed for home network households, including a description and possible future expansion easy. As a major step described herein, the overall structure of the network, including domestic repository and test a network. Outcome of this work is to design a home computer network, for the majority of households using older hardware components and minimized financial workload.

The Bachelor thesis deals with the using NAS servers for backuping data in the company Lesy hlavního města Prahy. The thesis describes single security methods of protecting data against losing and improving own protection. Next parts are specialized in single types of disk connections. The last theory part is focused on price NAS categories and their using in companies depending on their size. In the practical part of Bachelor thesis, I analyzed current net state in the company, where I had worked, and described the improvements that had been done.

Network storage and backup at home network

The bachelor thesis deals with networked storage solutions for data backup and data in the home network. The theoretical part contains information relating to backup and data archiving. Further described herein are storage media. Finally, they describe home network components and the components connected to it. In the home network is a more detailed description of the NAS and familiarity with the issues. The practical part was designed to analyze networks in Czech households. Propose and describe specifically defined household and then select the appropriate device, which was compared with other devices on the market. This corresponds to the most common household defined requirements from the analysis of Czech households. According to a questionnaire created for Czech households shows that cash is sufficient NAS solutions with the features and performance requirements of mainstream users.

Data protection and backup

The upcoming pages of this bachelor paper are dedicated to the issue of data backup and data protection in the environment of a household. The first part is focused on theory and explanation of the basic concept of data protection and data backup. Those concepts include basic types of backup, media and forms of backup application.
The second part aims for reviewing backup software and cloud storages by different criteria. Applications used in reviews will be running on the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. At the end of the paper, there will be presented variations of backup procedures and possible economic savings achieved by data backup.
