Research of awareness on demographic issues among university students in Czechia Abstract The aim of this study was to find opinions, knowledge and awarness of college students in Czechia about demography and population development in Czechia and in the world. We used two methods of selecting respondents: Stratified random sampling and chain selection. We obtained responses from respondents electronically using social networks and email. We analyzed the survey in particular according to individual and summary factual and individual opinion issues. We compared the study results with the some study results from France survey in 2015 and INED survey. A total of 1,149 respondents took part in the survey, of which 35% men and 65% women. Most respondents correctly estimated the population in the world or in Czechia and also they consider demography and population development to be important topics. It was interesting that most respondents considered the total fertility rate in the Czechia to be lower than in Spain or Italy, on the contrary, they thought the total fertility rate in the Czech Republic was higher than in Ireland. Analysis of morbidity and mortality on diabetes mellitus in selected European countries Abstract The aim of the bachelor thesis was analysis of diabetes mellitus morbidity and mortality in selected European countries. The morbidity of diabetes was analyzed using prevalence of diabetes. For analysis of mortality on diabetes, age-standardized mortality rates for all age groups and age-standardized mortality rates for age group 20-39, 40-64 a 65 and above were calculated between 1995 and 2014. Next, case fatality rate of diabetes was analyzed. Based on results, it was found that morbidity of diabetes increased in most of selected countries. The highest prevalence were in Slovenia, Germany and Spain. Thanks to analysis of mortality was found that intensity of mortality on diabetes for all age groups decreased in majority of selected countries, exceptions were Czechia, Croatia, Latvia, Hungary and Poland. In intensity of mortality on diabetes for all age groups, there was predominance of men in all selected countries but the differences were not great. Mortality on diabetes at age group 65 and above had the most significant impact on intensity of mortality on diabetes for all age groups.
