The thesis critically evaluates the existing knowledge on the importance of rodents as an important pests of agricultural crops. The main part of this thesis, i.e. the literature review, focuses on a brief description of the damage caused by rodents in the global context, and subsequently in the Czech Republic. The thesis focuses on the possible causes of this damage. Furthermore, the thesis mentions rodent species and their distribution according to food consumption, followed by a description of economic and sanitary damage. The thesis also mentions preventive measures against rodents, monitoring, methods of damage control and their economic impact. The thesis concludes by mentioning possible gaps in knowledge of the impact of annual crops on damage levels and potential alternative options for rodent damage control.
Quality of Work Life of the Visually Impaired

5 Abstract The thesis deals with the quality of working life of people with congenital and acquired visual impairment, where the group of people with visual impairment is not much studied in the conditions of the Czech labour market. The aim of the thesis is to determine the quality of working life of people with visual impairment working in the sheltered market. In order to fulfil the aim of the thesis, not only a search of the available literature is used, but also a qualitative empirical investigation carried out using the method of semi-structured interview of own construction and using the Subjective Quality of Work Life Indicator (SQWLi) by Jiří Vinopal. The thesis found that the subjective quality of working life of persons with congenital visual impairment and persons with acquired visual impairment differ, with persons with congenital visual impairment rating their subjective quality of working life higher than persons with acquired visual impairment. It was also found that the most important aspects for both groups of respondents are working relationships and self-realization, and the least important are finances and support for employment of the visually impaired by the state and other organisations. Barries in Employing Teaching Assistants

The aim of this thesis is to identify and analyse barriers and risks that go along with the profession of teaching assistant. The first part provides the comparison of the key competencies of teachers and teaching assistants, describes their motivation to perform their profession and issues the self-realization of teaching assistants. The second part defines the profession of teaching assistant, deals specifically with the qualification, personality requirements and the job content. The third and fourth parts examine the employment of teaching assistants and their position on the labour market. That includes legislative framework, the establishment of the profession of teaching assistant, concrete risks stemming from the profession, the issue of its financing and also spread of the profession within the Czech Republic. The last part of the thesis carries out a quantitative survey using empirical data from a questionnaire published online and handed to the real teaching assistants. The main aim of the survey is to identify the real barriers and to see the true perception of the problems which may hinder the self-realization in the profession as well as the professionalism and the overall attitude to the profession.
