A Multimedia Atlas of Cuticular Recent Seeding Plants
Jindřicha Částky a Mgr.
Removal of microcystins during drinking water treatment
Vaněčková, Hana ; Pivokonský, Martin (advisor) ; Pumann, Petr (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to explore the coagulation phase in water treatment process from two perspectives, the removal of cyanotoxin microcystin and the responses of ecotoxicological indicator species Daphnia magna to different concentration of this toxin, contained in a sample of cyanobacterial water bloom, which was extracted from a dam and was dominated by cyanobacteria Microcystis aeruginosa. The sample was administered in three environmentally relevant concentrations to 6 clones of Daphnia magna, 3 of which had previous experience with M. aeruginosa. Coagulation process was performed under optimal conditions: pH = 6.36; KNK4,5 = 0.26 mmol.l-1 ; Fe = 0.162 mg.l-1 ; DOC = 2.83 mg.l-1 using 10 ml of 0.125M NaHCO3 in two litres of ultrapure water. Individual forms of microcystin were detected in this ratio: 31.6 % MC-LR, 53.6 % MC-RR and 14.8 % MC-YR. The study has shown that under these conditions coagulation does not remove microcystin, e.g. the efficiency of the process is zero. In ecotoxicological study, with growing concentration of cyanobacterial mixture the negative impact on Daphnia magna increased. We have found interclonal variability in responses of D. magna, however, the previous experience with M. aeruginosa had no effect. With growing concentration of cyanobacterial water...

The mechanisms of specific polutants impact on aquatic communities.
Vaněčková, Hana ; Fuksa, Josef (advisor) ; Hořická, Zuzana (referee)
With a decrease of classic pollution of water ecosystems the importance of PPCP (pharmaceutics and personal care products) increases. Their amount is increasing due to human consumption and thus the input into municipal wastewater and consequently into the surface water, eventually into the ground water increases as well. This bachelor work is a review of scientific literature in the field of PPCP water load. The goal is resuming the results of the studies of the influence of these substances on freshwater aquatic communities. In the beginning the sources of the variability (in time and space) of the concentrations of these substances in rivers are resumed. But the rate of affection of the aquatic communities depends even on the length of exposure, which is longterm with regard to the continuous flow of substances from wastewater treatment plants. That is why the effect of long-term incidence on aquatic communities is intensively studied. The emphasis is put on the incidence of endocrine disruptors (substances disrupting the endocrine system), which affect e.g. the oestral cycle of some kind of exposed populations. There are observed changes in the way of perception of a predator by his prey whereas the escape reactions of the prey happen to be affected. The additive effect of ixtures of...

Sewage and it's cleaning at sewage water treatment plant in the village Ostrožská Lhota
VANĚČKOVÁ, Hana
All of us produce large volume of wastewater every day. But we care about the environment more and more which brings building of new sewerage plants as well. Nowadays, there is an intensification of old sewerage plants and many new ones are being built. In the past, sewerage plants belong only to the cities, but now they can be found even in the villages. People should also know what they release into sewerage and they should be aware of it. We should not rely only on a sewerage plant because it can not remove all the unwanted substance either. In my bachelor´s work on the theme ?Wastewater and its treatment in the sewerage plant in the village Ostrožská Lhota?, I deal with the present status of the sewerage plant in the village, the wastewater treatment system and wastewater in general as the theme indicates. The work is divided into two essential parts ? the theoretical and the practical one. Firstly, I described the former wastewater discharge in the theoretical part. Then I described the wastewater division and wastewater itself. Finally, I wrote about the sewerage plant, mainly about wastewater supply and its subsequent circulation. The next part is the practical one. My own research was a part of it. It was a quantitative form of research. The research was done by the method of questioning, in the form of questionnaires. The questionnaires were distributed to the residents of Ostrožská Lhota, people above 18. It was a random sample of people. 130 questionnaires were distributed in total. The obtained data are processed and analysed by means of charts. The secondary data analysis which was done by means of measuring data on inflow and outflow belonged to the practical part as well. Afterwards, the data were processed into charts. I set three goals in the work. The first goal was to evaluate the wastewater quality before the construction of the sewerage plant in the village Ostrožská Lhota. The second goal was to evaluate the effectiveness of wastewater treatment in the sewerage plant in the village. I tried to reach these two goals by means of secondary data analysis where I use the chart of measuring data on water inflow and outflow. I compared these figures with the limits of measurement ? limits which are set for the sewerage plant by the water resource management. I found out that the sewerage plant meets all the requirements and it does not exceed the limits. The measuring data are even below the limits. Lastly, the third goal was to find out the households´ opinion on wastewater pollution. I investigated on this goal by the help of the questionnaires. All the set goals were fulfilled. The testing results show that wastewater satisfies the limits of the water resource management and the people are aware of the discharged wastewater quality. This bachelor´s work can function as a recommendation when potential insufficiency is found. It can be also an educational material for non-professionals who do not know this topic and questions.

Business In The Ecological Agriculture
VANĚČKOVÁ, Hana
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the structure and the economics of organic farming in the chosen company. There are some notes from literature in the theoretical part, which explain the basic concepts of organic farming, its objectives and principles. Following sections focus on the current status of organic agriculture, control and subsidies. Special attention is paid to the issue of calculation. There is an analysis of the structure of costs and incomes of vegetable and livestock production in the practical part. The analysis shows that the company should have been focused on increasing income and better realization of their own production. Also the conclusion of the analysis is that the company is unable to manage without financial support.
