Social- Anormative Behaviour of Pupils at Special Educational Institutions (Pertinently at Biagnostic Young Offenders´ Institutions)

This bachelor thesis discusses socially abnormal behaviour of children in schools for children with disabilities and learning difficulties. Current times bring their share of problems. Disturbed interpersonal relationships may have an effect on relationships between society and schools or families. Abnormal behaviour of students is a frequently discussed topic due to the increase of children with problems with their behaviour. These problems manifest themselves as increased aggression, inciting arguments and cutting classes. Interpersonal relationships and interactions are important for the formation of a healthy personality. However, society often has a negative effect on children's development. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the various kinds of children's abnormal behaviour that teachers have the most difficulties with and how they deal with these conflicts. This work is divided into two main parts, a theoretical section and a practical section. The theoretical section discusses social factors that affect children's behaviour (family, classmates, school). Furthermore, this section is focused on personality transformations, which children pass throughout their school years and both normal and abnormal behaviour. Aggression, aggressiveness and bullying each have their own detailed section because in my research I have found these to be the most commonly occurring instances of abnormal behaviour. In this section I have also identified the main causes of these instances, the school facilities available and special learning tools. The practical section summarises the results of qualitative research. The data for this research was obtained through semi structured interviews. The interviews were conducted according to a prepared set of questions (appendix 1.) The interviewees were predominantly female, with seven women and one man. Research was conducted at primary schools for children with disabilities and learning difficulties in Pelhřimov, České Budějovice and Černovice. Interviews were carried out between May and June, 2014. The results section of this work contains the full interviews. These results provide information on what the most common incidents of abnormal behaviour are and how they are dealt with according to the teachers. Within the context of this research, it was discovered that the most common cases of socially abnormal behaviour in children involve aggressiveness, aggression and bullying. Many children of all ages have the tendency to break things and hurt others. Other instances that teachers mentioned in the interviews included abusive substances (alcohol, cannabis), lying, skiving, theft, sexual subtext and vulgar language. Teachers solve problems with children in various ways. All of the teachers' work with problematic children is highly individual. Two teachers agreed that problems at their school are resolved by a preventionist of socially pathological occurrences. Subsequently, if the preventionist is unable to resolve the issue, the school director discusses the problem with the student's parents. According to the teachers, communication with students and parents is important. They also state the importance of trust between students and teachers. Three teachers agreed on the importance of rules and regularity. Two teachers find that the best way is to use a calm approach. To have a calm discussion about what went wrong and why it cannot happen. This work concludes with the finding that teachers agree that the main causes of socially abnormal behaviour arise at home. Another important finding is that teachers mostly come into contact with aggressive behaviour at school. This bachelor thesis may be used by schools for children with disabilities. This work could be useful for parents of students with disabilities with social problems.
