Russia as a member of BRIC: economic strengths and weaknesses

This thesis deals with the countries known as the BRICs, which are likely to become mayor players in the global economy by the year of 2050. As of today, these countries produce one tenth of the world's GDP, form almost 27 % of the world's area and 42 % of the world population is spread amongst their territory. The main aim of this work is to analyze the Russian economy as a member of the BRIC economies. A significant part of the thesis deals with problems of the Russian economy, which could endanger its development. A side aim of the work is to compare Russia with other BRIC countries as well as the comparison between the BRICs and countries known as The next Eleven (N-11).
