Alberta Infant Motor Scale - Motor Development of Infant from Birth to One Year

Summary: Goals - The purpose of this work is to introduce the Canadian standardized assessment - Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS) to specialists. The test evaluate motor development of infants from birth to the eighteen months of age. Theoretical part - In this part I have summarized the need of standardized assessment for occupational therapists and the importance of early intervention for infants to one year age. The next chapter is about psychomotor development of newborn and infant. The main part is devoted to informations about the assessment AIMS. The last part is dealt with an overview of methods used in the pediatric occupational therapy. Practical part - I used AIMS assessment in practice and then in the form of case study, I have put the results of my testing with practical proposals for occupational therapy intervention.

The upper limb amputation in terms of self-sufficiency

The purpose of this work is to map problem activities of three areas of self-sufficiency by the people whose arm has been amputated. The second aim is to produce a information leaflet. The areas focused on are: feeding, dressing and hygiene. The target group includes the adults with the arm amputated, except for fingers. The research was done via a questionnaire. A theoretic part of this work contains a list of prosthetic tools and a division of prosthetic rehabilitation. A practical part focuses on the results of the survey. It contains a list of problem activities in individual areas of self-sufficiency and Occupational Therapy intervention of people with an arm amputated. It also compares an extent of self-sufficiency of individual respondents according to the type of the amputation.

This bachelor's thesis on "Body image, body perception, somatoesthesis" deals with the perception and evaluation of own body by the individual. In this thesis there have been described in a brief summary the evolution and the terminology, the means of examination of the perception and evaluation of the body and also there have been given the examples of the pathology in body perception. It covers not only the physiotherapeutic but also neurological and psychological aspects if the topic.
