Assessment of runoff conditions on the water flow Luha

Diploma thesis deals with the assessment of runoff conditions on the water flow Luha in the river kilometer 8,120 – 13,900. The river flows in the urban area of Polom and undeveloped area of Polom and Heřmanice. The thesis is focused on an assessment of the condition of the riverbed, capacity of the river and on design of a flood protection. The thesis includes an assessment of the condition of fishponds. The assessment is based on personal visit and photos taken as record. Program HEC-RAS was used to calculate the water levels. The outcome is an evaluation of the river condition according to a method HEM and design of the flood protection.

Hazards of HIV, What Know About Them the Secondery Young People in Česká Třebová

This thesis treats of the HIV virus and its hazards. It is composed of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with the HIV virus, it clears up the history of its discovery and the ways of transmission. It also describes the development and classification of the HIV infection, makes clear the possibilities of therapeutics and emphasizes prevention. As one of the possibilities of prevention the peer education in the sphere of HIV/AIDS prevention is mentioned here. In the practical part the questionnaire is analysed which was filled in by students of the second and third years of several secondary schools in Česká Třebová. By means of the questionnaire it was found out how the students are informed of the HIV virus, if they know how to protect themselves from it, where they get information and who they would turn on if they wanted to learn something about the virus. Another point of research was to find out if the obtained knowledge is somehow reflected in the common life of the interviewed people and if they feel to be threatened by the virus. My aim was also to find out the students' opinions on some specific situations which are concerned with HIV, like for example having one-night affairs or taking drugs. Quality of life and life satisfaction of people living with HIV/AIDS in the Czech Republic

This study explores aspects of quality of life (QoL) and how QoL is influenced by HIV/AIDS. Two years ago, in 2006, HIV/AIDS celebrated its 25th anniversary since it was discovered. Of these 25 years, the last ten years were dedicated to research on QoL. The rationale is that even though the emergence of antiretroviral therapy (HAART) has prolonged HIV positive people's lives, this alone is not sufficient to make one's life good. Consequently, it has become necessary to pay attention to the quality of this extended life. There has been, so far, only one research dedicated to QoL among HIV positive people in the Czech Republic. According to UNAIDS, about forty million people are infected with HIV globally. By the end of February 2008, the Czech Republic had 1081 reported cases; yet very little has been done in the area of research on QoL among Czechs who are HIV positive. One study done by Potribná in 2002, on QoL (mainly Health) after starting HAART, uncovered a strong need for research on the QoL among people living with HIV in the Czech Republic.

Assessment of the River Regulation in the Basin of the Odra River

The thesis deals with the assessment of the river Odra regulation in the river kilometer 88,199 – 80,076 in the urban area of Loučky nad Odrou. The thesis is focused on an assessment of the condition and fortification of the riverbed, vegetative components, the capacity and the flood protection. The assessment is based on a personal visit and photos taken as record. Program HEC-RAS was used to calculate the water levels. The outcome is an evaluation of the river condition and its capacity; according to these draft measures were designed. The thesis can result in a benefit in the future when designing flood protection schemes in this problematic area.
