Volunteer's possibilities in psychosocial care of long-term hospitalized children

Diploma thesis "Volunteer's possibilities in psychosocial care of long-term hospitalized children" deals with p improvement in the utilization of volunteers in providing the psychosocial care of the long term hospitalized children. The first part is devoted to a survey of an evolutionary psychology preschool children and children at the age of younger pupil age who represent my target group. It also provides information about the volunteers associations worldwide and in Czech Republic. After that I dwell on the psychosocial aspect of the course of the disease and on the psychosocial support of the long term hospitalized children. In the next part on the theoretical basis I study the efficiency of several volunteering activities and its further application in providing the psychosocial support. The data for my survey were collected at the Clinic of Children Haematology and Oncology of the Faculty Hospital in Motol. I have used following methods: observation, interview with the hospitalized children and their mothers and a questionnaire.
