The theoretical part introduces inflammatory bowel disease in general and then describes the disease itself: its definition, history, aetiopathogenesis, course, pathophysiology, clinical picture, diagnostics, therapy, possible complications, and prognosis. It also examines the specifics of nursing care of these patients and mentions the issue of illness perception. The last chapter is then devoted to education in nursing as such, and specifically to patient education with Crohn's disease. The empirical part is based on quantitative research using the standardized IPQ-R-CZ (B) questionnaire to learn about patient illness perception.
