The evaluation of the effect in supression of the inflammatory reaction by oral intake Relifex (nabumeton) after photodynamic therapy in the treatment of exsudative age-related macular degeneration
Šín, Martin ; Jirásková, Naďa (advisor) ; Sosna, Tomáš (referee) ; Dotřelová, Dagmar (referee)
Purpose: To evaluate photodynamic therapy (PDT) combined with the preferential the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor, nabumetone in the treatment of the neovascular age-related macular degeneration (ARMD). Methods: A prospective, double-blind, randomized study on 60 patients with subfoveal CNV secondary to ARMD without any previous treatment. Patients were divided into a nabumetone or placebo group. The main endpoints were the change of best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central macular thickness (CRT) and number of required PDT treatments Results: In the nabumetone group, 27 patients (90%) and 28 (93%) in the placebo group completed the follow-up of 12 months. In the nabumetone group, the mean CRT decreased from 332 μm (SD 68 μm) to 220 μm (SD 46 μm). In the placebo group, CRT decreased from 331 μm (SD 72 μm) to 254 μm (SD 61 μm). The mean BCVA was 0.68 log MAR (SD 0.22 log MAR) in the nabumetone group and 0.62 log MAR (SD 0.23 log MAR) in the placebo group at baseline. This stabilised in the placebo group to 0.66 log MAR (SD 0.33) but deteriorated in the nabumetone group to 0.86 logMAR (SD 0.41 logMAR). There was a significant reduction in the number of required PDTs in the nabumetone group, but significant progression of the RPE atrophy area. Conclusion: Combined PDT with oral intake of the COX-2...
Research of vitreous and vitreoretinal interface in microvascular retinal disorders focussed on eye complications of diabetes mellitus
Křížová, Libuše ; Zima, Tomáš (advisor) ; Průša, Richard (referee) ; Sosna, Tomáš (referee)
In this work I present conclusions of clinical-laboratory research focused on the patients with diabetic macular edema (DME). We performed biochemical and immunochemical analyses of vitreous samples that were collected during the pars plana vitrectomy. Moreover, at patients with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) we assessed morphological characteristics of DME using optical coherence tomography (OCT). According to our findings, the vitreous and serum concentrations of uric acid and glucose were significantly higher in patients with diabetic retinopathy and DME compared to controls. Also total ratio (serum/ vitreous concentration) of uric acid and glucose was in diabetics significantly higher than in controls. The most important determinant of increasing concentration of both uric acid and glucose in the vitreous was the grade of diabetic retinopathy. Moreover, we demonstrated significant correlation between vitreous concentration of uric acid and concentration of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in patients with DME and NPDR. We found further, that the volume of the macula (cube volume - CV) computed with the software of Cirrus HD-OCT correlates in diabetics significantly with the vitreous VEGF concentration, but not with uric acid. This OCT parameter could be used to...

Techniques of sheet metal parts creation in selected CAD systems with focus on 3D modellers Inventor and SolidWorks
SOSNA, Tomáš
The first part of the thesis is theoretical and contains basic concepts of design in 3D CAD systems. The next part is focused on tools for the production of classical components and their compilation, including examples. The following part contains tools and environment for the production of sheet metal parts and their assembly including examples. The penultimate part is focused on the manufacture of components of a unilateral lock and its assembly including fittings. The last part consists of a research probe that focuses on technical schools and companies. At the end of the thesis, Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks are compared.

Techniques for making reports in selected CAD systems in the examples focusing on 3D modelers Inventor and SolidWorks
SOSNA, Tomáš
This bachelor thesis deals with differences in CAD systems. Specifically it is focused on differences in Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. Main aim is to look into creation of system methods which means creation and assembling of components into system using bonds and animation. For this purpose it was created system of steam engine on which were demonstrated all techniques and differences in programmes. This thesis was structured for teaching in CAD systems area. The second part of this work deals with research which was drawn up as questionnaire. Author´s goal was to find out for example how many technical companies and schools use one of these two CAD systems, how many women and men work as constructor and how many students put given programmes into effect at schools. Next significant part of this thesis is AVI file which demonstrates a function of system and how it moves.
