Frequency of complications and their prevention in women in the early puerperium after outpatient delivery
Nedvědová, Kateřina ; Sosna, Ondřej (advisor) ; Buryanek, Adam (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of postpartum complications in early puerperium in women who choose to deliver as an outpatient (i.e., leave the hospital within 72 h of delivery). It also discusses the prevention of these complications and subsequent postpartum care as a preventive measure. Outpatient delivery is a relatively new option for childbirth. The number of women going home after outpatient birth is increasing every year, and addressing postpartum complications and prevention of complications in these women therefore deserves attention. The work is conceived as theoretical-practical. The theoretical part defines concepts such as outpatient delivery, puerperium with a focus on early puerperium up to the 7th postpartum day. It then describes complications occurring in early puerperium and finally deals with the education of women. The practical part deals with the analysis and statistical processing of a questionnaire survey that focuses on the frequency of postpartum complications in early puerperium and their prevention. The main objectives of the study were to determine the frequency and severity of postpartum complications in women after outpatient delivery in early puerperium, the frequency of education of women about postpartum complications in early puerperium by medical...
Th1/Th2 cytokine gene polymorphisms in patients with urine fibroid
Sosna, Ondřej ; Kužel, David (advisor) ; Živný, Jan (referee) ; Novotný, Zdeněk (referee)
Background: Uterine fibriod (UF) or leiomyoma is the most frequent benign tumour upon lower genital tract and represents the most frequent indication for hysterectomy. The aetiology remains still unknown. The genetic factors contributing for the development of UF are being intensively investigated. The aim of our study was to look for possible genetic markers which could be used as prognostic tools for evaluation of an increased risk for development of UF. Methods: The study group enrolled 102 patients diagnosed with UF and 145 healthy controls. Ultrasonographic examination of the pelvis was performed and a single blood sample was taken in all women. Histological verification followed the surgery in the patient group. The principal of the cytokine gene polymorphisms detection is based on PCR reaction with sequence-specific primers. Results: A large spectrum of Th1/Th2 cytokine gene polymorphisms in patients with uterine fibroid was compared with control group. The frequencies of the majority of tested cytokine gene SNP in the patient cohort were not statistically different from the cytokine SNP in the control group. However, an intriguing association between polymorphisms of the IL-4 gene promotor at positions -590 C/T and -33 C/T, and the risk of leiomyoma was observed. The CC genotype of IL-4 at position...
Midwife, member of obstetric team in peripartum haemorrhage.
Soukupová, Adéla ; Pařízek, Antonín (advisor) ; Sosna, Ondřej (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with postpartum hemorrhage which is the leading cause of maternal mortality in developing countries as well as in economically developed countries of the world. The thesis consists of two parts - a theoretical one and a practical one. The aim of the theoretical part is present published information about prevention, causes, risk factors, diagnosis and therapy of postpartum hemorrhage and especially to show the important role of midwife in all these aspects. The theoretical part includes a chapter focusing on simulation postpartum hemorrhage especially the question of effectiveness of simulations and repetition frequency. Studies that deal with simulations suggest that midwives are not often included in simulations. For this reason, the bachelor thesis contains a video created by midwifery students, midwives and doctors. The video shows urgent action of a midwife in the case of postpartum hemorrhage. The video should serve as an educational material for midwives and midwifery students. This video should also facilitate the preparation for their future profession. The practical part, case study, shows especially the midwife's care of a woman with postpartum hemorrhage.
